Bad roads huh. Never knew that there. Humidity is the same here in Iowa💯

We are considering a move to Greenville, but honestly I think SC roads are some of the worst in the country. Years ago I recall driving through on 95 and the roads were great, they are terrible now. One thing for certain is you can't beat the Southern people. God Bless them!

The roads are a con for us, for sure. I would be happy to help if you do decide to come to Greenville. 😀

I think for me, the biggest con is a lack of major concerts. When bands announce their tours, Greenville generally isn't on that list. We do not have a large outdoor amphitheater that hurts us in the summer. And the Well only has a capacity of 19,000. Far smaller than the arenas in Charlotte or Atlanta. Often leaving us to drive 3 hours to catch a show. I know there is a new venue coming at some point that holds around 3000 people. Hopefully, that will get some shows that often head to the Fillmore in Charlotte. I'm hoping that will be like the entertainment complex in Charlotte with a larger comedy club. The comedy zone here is much smaller than Charlotte, and large touring acts like comedian John Crist sell out quickly.

@Living in Greenville ..lots. I was glad for the Styx/Reo Speedwagon/Loverboy show. But they just announced the Eagles. Of course, you have to go to Charlotte or Atlanta.

Do Not purchase a new build. The homes are subpar and will give the homeowner nightmares. The infrastructure has not kept up with the overbuilding.

I think new builds depend a lot on the builder! Some are beautiful custom homes, while others are identical track houses put up without a care to quality at all. And you're right, infrastructure is a concern for the Upstate and will be as people continue to pour into the area.

@@HomesoftheUpstate I have an insider’s perspective. It’s not just the awful subdivisions, but the effects of the supply chain mismanagement and lack of professionalism in our skilled workers. I would be a constant presence and have everything detailed on paper if I were having a home built.

@@gailcarey3597 I agree that anyone building a home should get to know the builder and pay constant attention. Inspections are also vital, I have NEVER seen an inspection without some issues to correct, even on gorgeous newly built homes.

100%.. Asheville is dirty, run down, and full of hippies. Expensive AF to live there, and what few jobs are available pay crap.

The tale of two cities . Completely different cities , for sure ! To say one is " better " than the other is a matter of personal preference and not to be taken seriously by adventure seekers who know what their looking for but those spots and the people who visit them aren't always right there on the surface, you might have to dig a little , but we'll worth it !!

You sir are a salesman and as I can appreciate your cause don't ruin our cities reputation based on your clientele salary base as there is SOOOO much more in other area's of interest . Don't take this guy's advice fir just his opinions . Remember , there's more than what he talks about. Remember , he's selling real estate .

Too bad the real estate companies in this area is completely corrupt. You wont buy a home here unless You pay 15k over the asking price. If You say something about it they will simply show You homes 15k under what You can afford. No way around this, there all doing it. No realestate oversight in this state so watch out dont waste Your time unless You dont mind over paying. When You over pay the agent gets there fee but You pay interest on that money the entirety of the loan.

If you hire an agent, they are legally required to put in any offer you ask them to make on your behalf. If they are refusing, you can report them to the real estate commission. If the home has multiple offers, you may need to be over asking in order to have your offer accepted....but your agent should submit any offer you deem fit. I have submitted plenty of offers under asking.

@@HomesoftheUpstate Real estate commission does not care about any of this in South Carolina. None the less its hard to prove and the agents are and recurrently doing this.
