Please do your research before you go out and buy one of these. These animals are extremely social and are required to be kept in pairs or they get depressed. They live in burrows in the wild that are 10+ feet deep. If u don’t have the ability to keep 2 and give them an outdoor enclosure that they can’t dig out of then don’t keep them as pets

For anyone actually considering getting foxes as pets, as I've seen this becoming more and more popular in North America - don't. Fennek foxes aren't domesticated, which means they are not used to live with humans (like dogs for example). It's pretty much like keeping a wolf in your home which I'm sure you wouldn't. Just because people keep wild animals in their home doesn't mean they are domesticated. Yes, they might be small and cute, but they have complex requirements you will never be able to meet. They usually live in deserts, where they burrow large underground tunnel systems which can be as big as up to 120qm (1292sqft). They live in family groups and require a complex diet consisting of mainly insects and small rodents. Even if you could meet those insanely high standards because your house is a large desert or something, constantly being around other predetors like humans will stress them out. That why they will act aggressive and develop behavioral disorders like destroying their surroundings, self harm or repetitive movement. If you want a cute pet like that without abusing an animal, get a cat.

@mand0r your right 100%. These types of foxes actually do not do well in captivity, they should be released once they are out of baby stage. One tiny change to that girl’s house if she moves his kennel or she moves houses, any type a very small, minor environmental change, and they will get such high anxiety levels. It literally puts them in cardiac arrest. Those guys belong in the desert in Northern Africa. Impossible to re-create their natural environment without actually living in Africa in the desert. If you cannot re-create their natural environment they shouldn’t be a pet.

@@Chrissie780 Animals who are raised in captivity should *never* be released into the wild, considering they'd have no knowledge of how to survive. An animal should only be released into the wild if 1.) They came from the wild and were only kept in captivity for a short amount of time to heal injuries meaning that they grew up in the wild, 2.) I really like your point. It’s fine to have them if they are a rescue, you know what you are doing, and can take care of them. Especially if there are no sanctuaries for the animal whete you live. In my area, the only option would be giving them to a local zoo, which is rather a bad option, and they would have hundreds of people starring at them for hours daily, which is rather stressful. However, videos like this one here, might end up causing many people who have no knowledge, to just buy the animal, treating it like owning a cat, or worst, buying it to make pictures or videos to post and earn money on them. Or reproduce them and sell their kids to earn money.

Your name fits well, the fox can't survive in the wild because he's on a feeding schedule not a hunting schedule, the fox just like dogs and cats and birds and alligators and ferrets and bunny's and mice and rats all still have natural instincts no matter what. If she let him go just because of your stupid comment and people like you encouraging it he would be dead or swooped up by a bird or hit by a car or eaten alive or die or hunger or thirst not knowing where to get those materials. @Pink Panther Same with cats they tear shit. your point about wild animals being impossible to tame is simply untrue as all animals have a psychology and so think and react in a certain way to stimuli around them.In reality people can tame any animal There are people who literally live with prides of lions simply because they understand and mimic lion psychology Also "wild" animals that come into contact with humans often eventually become used to them and therefore become tame. Examples of this can be found in hundreds of places around the world such as wildlife parks where "wild" animals develop relationships with park rangers
