Thank you for sharing this important information. Having a house in foreign land also reduce school transfers for children. When you are renting a house you can move properties hence the need for children to transfer.

I am a Zimbabwean living in the U.K.. I believe buying your own property is a secure and lifelong investment. Currently the demand for houses is very high in the U.K…. you won’t go wrong with property. There are more pros than cons

Thank you for the information just came across this channel today. I think I might be interested in this mortgage idea. What are the requirements and suppose i had a monzo bank account do i need to switch to another bank account with these other big banks?

Ideally go with a broker. They can help you even if you haven't got Credit history or poor credit history. Going straight to these high street banks is a complete nightmare especially if you recently arrived in the UK.

I still prefer to buy a house in different countries, my only regret is to buy too many properties in Zimbabwe, i have since stopped, now i can only buy properties in neighbouring countries and 2 or 3 in Europe.......investing in property is never a bad idea

@@Resithrive well a bit, yes, but when I say several houses I'm not talking about expensive houses from rich neighbourhoods, I'm talking about buying a house that is in a bad state, renovate and extend....I'll give an example, my last property in Zimbabwe was 14k ...350sq meters, yaive ne 3 rooms and 1 bathroom only....I added 7 more rooms and 2 more bathrooms and I gives me an income of 600 USD and the total amount that I used on buying, renovation and extending was 28k ....in Zimbabwe properties are really cheap and they have a lot of profit if you rent them out... however there is another neighbouring country one mari yakawandisa when it comes to property as well, and that country is known for having stable economy, wait....not only stable but excellent economy, and well developed...and mind you, I'm not talking about SA 🤣🤣🤣

@@elvisndlovu1232 I kinda understood what you meant. You're into property development which is a lucrative business. Still, kudos to you 👏🏾

25yrs paying rent to someone is better to have own mortgage when you tired you can go home and get your rent. Even in Zim buying a house its not easy.

@hoto-vg8we Not exactly, I think you are forgetting the part where you have to raise a deposit that you will never see again. In truth, if you invested that money for 10-15 years and paid a significantly larger deposit, you'd end up paying much less over the life of your mortgage and get to keep some of your investment growing while paying a much smaller morgate over a shorter amount of time.
