Several recent scientific advances have revolutionized treatment for prostate cancer, the most common non-skin cancer in American men. Unfortunately, many patients develop treatment resistance through androgen receptor mutations and other forms of molecular trickery. In this Medical Grand Rounds, we will explore recent therapeutic advances, including imaging techniques and novel immunotherapies, dive into resistance mechanisms, and discuss promising new options for managing resistant cases and enhancing survival rates.
