Just bought a few to get the water away from my bulkhead. Couldn't see a way to connect the two extenders... turns out I did see it and just didn't think it was correct. This cleared that up. Thanks!

I had so much trouble with this. They do not just snap together, it took two of us to push it together and we never heard a snap.

Excellent video. I’m looking for ways to divert water from downspout without having to move a bunch of stuff every time I mow the grass.

it would be helpful if you has a close-up shot of how the pieces fit together, and where to cut, etc.

are you kidding>? you really need a close up of how these items fit together? If that's the case, you may want to call a handyman to do it for you

I was looking for close up as well. When i purchased the pieces and tried to connect, it was not as easy as he showed. They did not click together.

Thank you for the instructional video. It was very helpful. How do you fix a problem in the accordion section? A couple of accordion creases separate and create an opening. I just need to fix that section. I am not able to dig up the whole drainpipe and replace it with a new one because there are pavers on top of it. Thanks.

Do the larger ends of the brown fit into each other like the smaller ends do? They look similar only larger.

Where would one find the "green" coverage splash block seen in the video? I can't seem to find that type.

They become very brittle over time and will break. Used it for a down spout to feed a rain barrel and it now just snaps off when I try to move it.

I pointed mine UP hill sort of and the water just turned around and rolled right back down n the direction i tried to avoid. lol I need some more exts., then i want to stick it to where water is going to the front side of the house or side yard. I may have to pile up some rocks or something to keep the H2o at side of house. The foundation is that thick fake concrete slats. I am trying to get the water to go/roll through the gate too.

funny thing is that happened to me and i didnt even realize it. i got one of these extensions for free someone gave it to me about a year ago. i put it on my left down spout. kept noticing the corner of my garage was getting wet but didnt pay much attention to it. so after a year during a storm i was checking everything. i noticed about 75% of the water was ejecting out of the tube backwards and only 25% was going down the tube down the hill. if the connection isnt tight and secure completely sealed then a heavy rush of water will just make it splash backwards and flood lol

once you connect the 2 together, you didnt show how you then connect it to the downspout lol, do i cut anything or just wedge the damn thing in there and hope it works

Just fit it onto the downspout. I actually slid it onto the downspout, and drilled 3 screws through it and the downspout; one on the top, and two on each side about 3/4 of the way up.

Did you stop making these? All I can find is the rectangular to rectangular downspout adapter. What happened to you 80" extension? Can't find it anywhere. I want matching green or brown.

NOT HAPPY. I bought a 2x3 down spout adapter, connected it to my drain pipe exactly as in this video. I then connected it to a green spout extension. I cut the 56 inch ext. Exactly where it tells you to do and then connected it to the adapter, both rounded parts. I made sure to insert the white adapter into the ext. And not the other way around. It leaked like hell. I had to buy special water proof tape. I then added another green 2x3 ext. to the first one, small end into small end. Pushed it all the way in. It leaked too.

If only my landlord had followed this very simple installation tutorial, because they made the mistake inserting the extension inside the flex elbow instead of the other way around as described @2:25, so now rainwater is flooding into our basement due to the leaking.

why not start with an elbow at the end of the downspout, then connect your parts? Corrigated hoses tend to collect debris.

I wish that the "directions" on how to attach an Amerimax extension to an Amerimax Flex-a-Spout came with actual directions. Just mentioning "female" and "male" ends, just mentioning which end to cut, and showing everything from a distance, does not make it. Not for a non-mechanical homeowner like myself. If you can direct me to a video that takes you step-by-step, up-close-and-personal, that would be very helpful. Because, following what I thought I heard/saw, required a lot of fine-tuning (as in using pliers, using duct tape and such) - and I'm not at all confident that it will hold up.
