Protected areas in Ontario have grown!
In early 2024, NCC announced the conservation of an additional 111 hectares of land in the Frontenac Arch region - a big win for nature in Ontario! But what is the Frontenac Arch and why is it a conservation priority?
Eastern Ontario’s program director Rob McRae explains what makes this area so special and in need of safeguarding.
These projects were made possible in part by the Government of Canada, through the Natural Heritage Conservation Program, part of Canada’s Nature Fund, the Government of Ontario, through the Greenlands Conservation Partnership Program. We also thank the many private donors who supported these projects.
