Around 80 protestors gathered outside Premier House, on Saturday, April 2nd 2022.
It was day two of the Unite. group’s 14 day protest against several political issues including vaccine mandates, government overreach and economic destruction. Day two’s focus was on government overreach. Protestors were invited to speak on how government overreach had affected them.
At the entrance to Premier House, protestors were invited to speak, directing their message to Jacinda Ardern. Some of them looked at the security cameras, imagining Ardern was on the other end, as they spoke.

The Unite. group provided food, water, music and toilets to support the needs of the protestors. Police had a strong presence in the area. There were several police cars and vans, a police photographer and around 20 police men and women stationed in various locations surrounding the protestors. The police looked bored and uncomfortable wearing their masks in the hot weather.
On March 23rd 2022, the Prime Minister announced an easing of the COVID restrictions that would become active at 23:59 April 4th 2022. However, mandates still apply to healthcare, border and elderly care workers.
