I've been procrastinating for 4 years. Did you notice the square between the inputs on the board? That is where the bridging switch would be if they hadn't eliminated it. Bridging was causing reliability problems.

That's a nice modification. I've had tons of trouble with Yamaha recievers which are well known for having the RCA jacks cut in and out due to bad connections to the pcb. With some rca cables you have to apply lots of pressure to hook them up. This puts all the pressure on the sheet metal case. Looks like a winner to me.

Two wires coming off each input from the board, do you hook one to the center of the rca jack and one to the ground of the jack? Or is this chassis ground? Confused because you only sodered once on each rca jack?

I did this modification and now have ground hum. Is your rca ground ring against the chassis or did you mount the rca so the chassis is isolated between the plastic rings? Currently mine are mounted the lather.

If you make your pigtails longer. You don’t have to drill new holes.
