Cheers from the USA! 🇺🇸 Great video man! I really enjoyed it. I like your comparison with the Juggernauts. This is one of the first ‘real’ comparison videos I’ve seen of these two pickups and it makes a lot of sense that between these two and Jake’s that they are all significantly different so they can all come through in the frequency mix. Cause that’s a lot of guitars going on! Haha I also like that you’re just a real dude and not some fancy kid shredding up and down the fret board. This is a very honest video! And it’s helped me a lot! I’ve been looking for one of these for some time now and have just recently found one and will be picking it up in a couple of days. I was very nervous of course due to the price at $5000 which I thought was the going price point. And you’ve confirmed that for me. I would have truly loved to find a Holcomb Burst but the one I did find was the faded whale blue. It’s in LT’s tone condition and comes with original excellent condition case with all of the case candy and most importantly the PRS hang tag. For $5000! And the seller is within driving distance of me. So I’m super excited to be joining this very select group of lucky owners of a Core Holcomb. Much like you I am hoping PRS does a future run and collaboration with Mark. My guess is that it will be a Core SVN. And boy will I be lining up with money in hand to buy that guitar! I have the SE version and it’s killer so I can only imagine what a Core model would be like. Great vid. Keep up the great work man. I really enjoyed your walk through of this so coveted and desired PRS!

Killer guitar with a great looking 10 top. The MH specs are so nice on a PRS.

Haha man don't know when this will happen but will definitely keep you in mind. In the meantime I suggest checking out the Tremonti Baritone as it also has a 25.5 inch scale and a hardtail. I just uploaded a review so you can check it out

Tenx for the review. I own this guitar as well, it is amazing. But I found out that it doesn't hold lower tunings all that good. With lower I mean Drop B/B flat area. In that area it goes out of tuning pretty occasionally. And I tried a lot of stuff to make it work (string gauges, string brands, action, nut-sauce, you name it)

What string gauge are you using. I have found anything between a 56 to 62 for the low E string can work for B standard / drop A tunings for a 25.5 inch scale

@@ministryofguitar it is a 10-46 optiweb set, without the 0.10. For the low B-flat I use a 0.64. The 0.64 needs some serieus stretching as well. Even then I end up tuning (after stretching) every 5 minutes.

@@johnnysguitarcorner5510 interesting. There is such a thing as too heavy a string as well. I had a 68 on my tremonti baritone and it just felt dead and flat. The other thing I would do is do the standard checks (intonation, nut lubrication (add a bit of graphite aka pencil tip), proper restringing (in this case, just the right direction of string turn and locking tuners locked properly), The hipshot like bridge and the PRS tuners , nut are all quality bits of hardware. It should work out. Worst case, take it to a tech who can diagnose the issue

I think it would be cool if you tried a Kiesel guitar. I’d be really interested to hear your thoughts.

Beautiful guitar. I've been looking at the seven string SE Holcomb recently. Have you tried that one?

No I haven't but I have a couple of SE SVN's that I love and have swapped with Bare Knuckles

That is a larger than life question my friend. My best advice is keep it on your reverb watch list and move fast when you spot one

looking at those saddle positions relative to each other I have a hard time believing it's intonated well... especially if the Drop D string is a heavier gauge to compensate for the otherwise lower tension, which could see that saddle forward a bit. but even the unwound saddles are in an almost straight line. Nice top though, and I'd probably rather have hardtails on my PRS as well.

Yeah I haven't intonated it. Could use some adjustment. I'm planning to put it in Drop A soon, so will mess with it then

@@ministryofguitar awesome! There's 2 of the same like yours on Reverb going for $7k ~ $9k. There's 2 gold black colors up as well for $7.5k ~ $9k. If u bought it cheaper, another great PRS investment 👍🏻
