I LOVE this Prussian Blue!!! ❤❤❤ No, it's not too dark. It's fantastic. 🎉

FeSO4 is readily available and can be used as a source of Fe 2 to avoid having to make FeCl2. Dissolve 9.4g FeSO4 mono hydrate and 5g FeCl3 hexahydrate, dissolve separately in minimal required water then mix. Dissolve 18g of potassium ferricyanide in 50ml water and slowly pour this into the mix of iron salts while stirring. A very dark blue suspension quickly forms. This purple ppt can be dried on a steam bath with no apparent change. The final product is very dark. But I have no idea if it is good or not for painting!

I got to see the stir plate in action. That and the synthesis process is really cool

I wonder if you could spin down the super fine particles using a bench top centrifuge. I just picked one of those up on eBay for $60. Nice job on this!

Found something interesting I thought you'd like to know. On my salt package I saw "yellow prussiate of soda". Did some reading and found out this is sodium ferrocynide. Its used as a anti-caking agent in the salt. I wonder if you could buy sodium ferrocynide cheaper than potassium ferrocynide and be able to make prussian blue for less money?

I am not too sure if there is a big price difference, but I didn't know that it was used as an anti-caking.

Hi. Could you make a guide for federal blue and salem red? Maybe you can advice some books about color making. Sorry for my English.

NEAT!! Since your making pigments for paint, do you have a suggestion on which process works best so you don't have to do a lot of grinding?

A ball mill is going to be invaluable, I really need one or need to make one.

@@TheAlchemicalArts I bought a big diameter cap for a pipe that has a screw on lid. Polyvinyl pipes for home pumping. I put a lid on each side and put heavy nuts (for screws) inside and after screwing on the lid start shaking it vigorously or I might add a handle to one of the pipes lids so it'll turn on a bed of rollers. Got to think through the final part a bit more.

Hi, How can I stick the pigment to the canvas without diluting it? I want the pigment to look like velvet

Where did you buy it?

You kinda have to use a muller. Otherwise you don't get all the pigment particles individually "wet".
