I'm finally beginning to assimilate the "points" so I can pronounce the words. It's a thrill. I as if I'm back in school. This is so exciting! Todah rabah.

This is amazing! Thank you so much! I took Hebrew in seminary and felt like I was introduced to the Torah for the first time! It is so exciting to understand the deeper meanings in Hebrew, and I always wish that preachers of the Bible would go back to the Hebrew text instead of preaching from the English Bible! It would help people become excited about learning more about the Scriptures!

I heard somewhere that there is a Jewish tradition that the Tree of Knowledge was a fig tree, which, if true, sheds some light on the words "May no one eat fruit from you again." I would be interested to hear your commentary on this idea.

There are varying Jewish traditions on what the fruit was; they are more like ancient speculations than really any one solid tradition. The rational behind a fig tree is that Adam and Chawa covered themselves with Fig leaves when they realized they were naked (so since they just ate from the fruit that must be the closest leaves to them).

Sorry I've never heard of the Bible Project. I learned about Jewish meditation at the Hillel House as a university student some 30+ years ago. Hillel house is a place for Jewish students to come together; I used to attend for kabbalat shabbat services then would walk home. Many of the psalms we prayed this way in the kabbalat shabbat service. Thanks for commenting on my channel you are most welcome here!
