So I glad I found your interviews with all the doctors and researchers. I was diagnosed with epilepsy as a preteen. Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy with migraines. Was simply told to just take the medicine and get over it. Have been on so many emotional roller coasters and caused quite a bit of damage in my life. Now 51 and I am just starting to come to terms with so much and learning that all my instabilities were due to epilepsy and there are different forms and types of seizures. I have seen so many doctors over the years...no one else explained any of these things to me. I have felt so alone. Thank you for all you are doing. It means so much.

I can relate to the risk taking behaviour, definitely fuel by I "need to test/push my boundaries", my mother regards it as a vicious sense of independence! Having a child and a job where it is my responsibility to keep them safe has stopped it. I have a lot of time for the young people walk this path and great respect for my parents making sure their anxieties about seizures being part of my to themselves! ❤

Another great episode, Torie! Thanks so much for highlighting another aspect of Epilepsy about which most people do not think.
