The historic lighthouse was active from 1889 to 1993. The light, now automated, sits atop a nearby skeletal tower.
The cliffs are quite something. It's hard to understand how they can be so smooth and angular. I've come across varying claims for their height, ranging from 50 to 100 metres. My own estimate is 90 metres near the lighthouse.
I occasionally experience vertigo when piloting my drone. Flying over the cliff-edge at Pt Perpendicular was one of them!
The military has a firing range on the peninsula. Access to the whole area is quite restricted - mostly to certain times on weekends and public holidays. Before visiting, check out the Facebook page (below) for open hours:

* For a better quality viewing, watch KZitem video in the highest resolution you can stream - irrespective of your screen resolution (assuming you're looking at something larger than a phone). Reduced compression on KZitem's higher resolution versions (eg. 2.7K & 4K) results in clearer images.
