Where can I get the part list and the tehnical drawing with sizes ?

Hi, the plans are from the book "Cowells 90 Lathe Handbook". The construction is mainly brass and silver steel or "drill rod".

just built that motor only with diffrent materials and spex , still has a brass piston. only part left is figuring out the intake and exhaust ports.......wasnt as nice as yours but the general idea is the same being that I didnt build to your scale, am seeing thiers 3 holes for the intake and exhaust so when the wobble starts the 2 holes have to line up with the 1 hole as it goes back/forth right??
@machinist_matt

I'll try to explain. 😅 There are 2 holes in the column (lets call them A and B) and 1 in the cylinder (lets call it C). As the air enters through (A) into the cylinder (C) it pushes the piston down moving the cylinder into a position which aligns (C)&(B) where the air is exhausted and the cycle starts again. Hope that makes sense? I'd love to see your build btw. 😎

@@machinist_matt dont quite get it yet.............so when I drill the 2 holes in the column do they line up with the 1 hole in the cylinder?? I made some wobblers by tubelcain , is it anything like that??

@@machinist_matt ok thanx for that, if I got it right >>>>>>>>>>> when the main tower with the 2 holes leans left its putting air thru the 1 hole in the cylinder and visa versa right?>>>>>>>>> still trying to figure out where to drill the 1 hole in the cylinder in relation to the 2 holes in the main tower
@machinist_matt

@@stanburdick9708 Yes that's it you got it. Generally the single hole in the cylinder is bang in the middle and at the very top of the stroke IIRC. 🙂

Hi Matt. Sorry, but when you used different grades of sandpaper to polish up was it normal wood sandpaper or wet and dry and did you use any compounds like solvo autosol or brasso?
@machinist_matt
Жыл бұрын
Hi Michael I used ordinary wet and dry. No polishing compounds or anything. You must be near finished now? How did the build go?

Thanks Matt. I’m gonna have a go at making one. Got all the materials however, base plate is thicker material so I’m assuming I just need slightly longer fixing screws?

@@michaelchatt2639 Yes a thicker base and longer screws should be fine. Good luck with the build! 👍

@@michaelchatt2639 I just used various grades of fine sandpaper. The finest being 1200 grit to give it a lightly brushed finish. 🙂

Hi Michael. I have a large box of random springs I bought several years ago. I can't remember where I got them unfortunately. 😬 The spring from a biro pen will probably be about the right size.
