Review PTR 91 from JANCguns. PTR91 is a clone of the g3 similar to a Cetme. Slight review and a little opinion on the weapon as well! Hope you enjoy, Subscribe if you like!
We appreciate your.... colorful input. You are correct in saying that the PTR drum sights are in yards not meters. Our information came from the armorers manual for the HK91 that came with the rifle when purchased. I am in fact looking at getting a more adjustable sight system, such as the aperture sight on an AR, M1A, or Garand. The Full info for a PTR can be found on the PTR site.

Ar15 sights wont work on that rail. They are aligned on a different plane much higher than the HK setup. No iron sights of any kind will fit on there except for the factory ones. Put them back on

Well this PTR averaging 3 or 4 inch groups at 100 yards isn't exactly a Lamborghini or Ferrari of rifles. That statistic comes from the company that makes them and is publicly viewable on their website. Your concept appears to be, 'well my car is broken so I should pay an exorbitant amount for a part to fix it when I could pay very little to get an equally effective part."

The original sights are designed to be used in conjunction with how the eye naturally aligns concentric circles. Circle inside a Circle. They are DEAD accurate. again they are still in use today for a reason. I HIGHLY doubt you will be able to bolt on better sights. Unless you go M1 Garand or M1A sights. This is all just my opinion. I can easily hit 10X10 steel plates at 200 yrds with the Factory sights. Also once again they are in YARDS not Meters.

I noticed that your mount is not installed on the mounting swells on the receiver (whatever they're called), but rather about an inch forward of them. I have the same rail mount but haven't had a chance to put anything on it. Does it hold a zero well?

I had an Eotech on the same mount before. As long as you tighten it a good bit, you will never encounter any problems with it.

On hkparts.com they have a single aperture rear sight that is both windage and elevation adjustable. It reminds me of the m1 rear sight. It's the 4th gen 1200m rear sight.

That cheap junk 30$ rail ontop is going to move a billion times when you fire it. I will bet everything I own on that as I have seen it happen with that same mount. I'll put it to you like this. Why buy a Lamborghini or a Ferrari and put 87 octane in it?? Same concept you are doing there. Spend the money on the MFI mount, it will hold zero and NOT move. yes it's 130$ but trust me it's worth it. Again PLEASE re install your rear sight and take a second look at them. u'll b glad you did.
