Chris recently had a defective ultrasonic oil diffuser returned to the pharmacy that he works for. Since he was able to fix one before, he figured he'd try to troubleshoot it. The customer that returned it mentioned that it simply would not turn on.
Chris' initial test was to swap the power supply with a known working one, which had no effect. When he opened it up in the shop he looked for obvious signs of damage or bad manufacturing. After a few minutes of testing, he came up with the problem: bad wire harness between the power button and the main board. After replacing the faulty wire, the unit was retested and was confirmed to be working again.
