Kusu Island, where devotees go for a pilgrimage every year, is now completely self-sufficient. It is able to meet its own water and power needs with solar panels and a desalination system. Plans are on the cards for other Southern Islands to do the same. Similar technology is expected to be rolled out next year on popular diving spot Pulau Hantu Besar. Lauren Ong reports.
