Very pleased with my Velocity. Grabbed it on 50% SALE and the bar is very high for value/price for my next daily trainer. Puma really nailed it by releasing the Nitro series and signing Molly. Glad to see more competition. 🙃

Puma and Reebok are both killing it in the past couple years. Now all I need are some Umbro shorts and I’ll be reliving the 90s haha. But seriously, I’m loving these recent offerings. I’ve got the Puma Ultraride (budget show with a tpu partial plate) and it’s fun. Great 5k-10k shoe for me. For Reebok, since I’ve mentioned it, I’ve got the Floatride Grow (special plantbased offering from last year) and it’s a do-it-all shoe. Built for daily running but perfectly capable of uptempo work and long runs. Also have the first version of the Reebok Floatride Energy, and use it exclusively as my treadmill shoe (gotta keep at least one pair clean lol). I feel like it would do every thing the grow would do, and reminds me a lot of a Saucony Ride which has been by daily trainer of choice for my first few years of running (I’ve really only branched out to other brands in the last 1.5 years).

The Velocity Nitro is by far one of my favorite daily trainers. It feels almost Novablast-like to me. Maybe not as bouncy, but it probably has the most comfortable lockdown of any of my shoes. I would put the Puma Magnify Nitro against the NB More V3 or Nike Invincible, but on my test, the toe box is narrow in the Magnify, and its a HEAVY shoe. I also wanted to point out briefly, there is a second foam in the heel of the Velocity Nitro that's called ProFoam Lite. This is an EVA based foam thats between the heel plate and the rubber outsole. Its a little firmer, so its more responsive and pretty bouncy. You'll notice the slight discoloration between the ProFoam Lite and the Nitro Foam. Just wanted to point that out. Also, trail shoe: Puma Voyage Nitro. QD: Next pair of running shoes? I just got a pair of Nike Invincible's on discount, so it may be a little bit. I'd love to get the Asics Kinsei Blast.

This was my daily trainer of the year for 2021. Currently at about 500km in my first pair and they’ve been used for everything except out-and-out speed work. Ran a snappy half in them in April, they do a great job on trails and fire roads, and are just an excellent all-round shoe. I’m going to buy a 2nd pair, they’re now $149 here in New Zealand ($100 US).

I bought this shoe when it first came out and from the first time I put it on I knew it was money. Love the grip and it can do just about anything. It does start feeling a little heavy and dull towards the end of a long run but it wasn't bad. There is just nothing to gripe about especially when considering the price. Listening to people from Puma I am excited to see where this shoe and line goes in the future.

Love your channel! Stellar content! I've begun to notice something with your audio...I checked other channels to Make sure it wasn't my ear buds, even changed video quality to see if it was youtube compression...but I think on your recording setup you've got a compressor or a gate going that is a little too aggressive...it gives a slight impression like you're talking under water. I didn't notice this a few months ago when I found your channel...but that may have been cause I'd listen to your content on the road with a window down...and that white noise masked it. Either way, give your setup a look through. If you've got a compressor or gate on your audio, adjust the ratios a little bit. It is odd that you or your editors haven't caught this which really makes me think it's on my end...but I've checked other channels, and adjusted the quality and I'm still catching it on your content...just now I switched to my other phone to see if it was isolated to this device...and it's still present. This in NO WAY takes away from your stellar content, and I'll still follow you for solid shoe commentary...it's just something I'm noticing that is ever so slightly irksome. Godspeed!

I’m confused with the scores assigned to weight. The Novablast 2 is heavier (8.9 oz) than the Velocity Nitro (8.4 oz), but the Novablast 2 received a higher score for weight (7.25 for Novablast 2 vs 6 for the Velocity Nitro). The weight of both shoes seem pretty normal for a daily trainer.
@giovanbattistafichera8439

that's because he has an affiliate link with the Novablast 2 on runningwarehouse, not with the Puma. He couldn't care less about Puma. He'd even forgotten that he was sent one! :D Besides, even if he was indeed scoring the two fairly, Asics would still have a much bigger chance of giving him some return because Puma is only now trying to take some market share and most of the shoes that were sold from the Nitro line were actually sold at very attractive prices.

Agree with your opinion, not with scoring. Weight for a daily trainer is solid (compare to the Novablast or Nike pegasus for instance). Also not the entire midsole is nitrogen infused. In the back there is a more solid EVA wedge underneath the plastic clip, to provide stability. Personally I feel the upper could use some tweaks and the sizing is a bit meh (mine run a bit long). Agree on the lockdown and comfort. Price point score should be even higher as they are often found cheaper, and gives the Nike pegasus a run for its money (more versatile and more comfy/fun). Just my opinion, thinking you are being a bit too hard on Puma still. Also was expecting a tweener alert for this one. You could pull off tempo and long runs with it.

It was NOT confusing, true-to -size won easily….the smaller one had the cramped feel and on simulated toe-off, was right at the edge. Cutting open vs. lightening shoes--You may be better off just saving the shoe for later comparisons. Cutting it open is a short-lived novelty that often doesn't add much to our knowledge, especially if there's no carbon plate involved. As for lightening the shoe, there's nothing you can do to change its materials and many of the other lightening options might sacrifice the shoe's integrity or stability. Of course, if you have an extra pair or two, then go for it!
