Claire he is SOOOO sweet, oh gosh that sweater is awesome! Just want to mention that although those antlers are sooo good for their teeth, we were told by our vet to wait until they are at least a year, and possibly 2 years old for a small breed before you give them. Their teeth are so soft as puppies and you can actually damage them. A great alternative until they are older is an all natural tendon stick or bully sticks (esshh). Just thought i'd mention as we were not aware :) Ps.. love his name lol

Ahhh Buster you are soooo cute sweetheart❤️ I hope we'll see you in a whole lot of your Mommy's videos!!! My tip, there are some people who don't approve of their dogs sleeping with them in bed. But you won't find anything more comforting than having your baby sleep with you cuddled in your arms😊

What a little sweetie! I adore when he's on your snaps :) Thanks for the tip on Found! I may for sure need to buy my dog something cute. Puppy trips - crate train! We did not do this successfully and six years later really wish that we had at times.

Using a bell when we potty trained our dogs was probably one of the best things we ever did. We just attached a little bell to a string and hung it on the door we took them out to go potty. Every time we took them out we would take their paw and tap the bell and they learned that by ringing the bell they could be let out whenever they needed it.

+carliemichelle19 so awesome isnt it? We trained our miniature dachshund to use a bell too. Especially helpful when someone is doggy sitting her. We take the bell and she will tell my friends/fam when she needs to go outside! Only took a few days for her to catch on.

I found that my puppy loves having a place to hide in. We got him like a tent-dog bed and when he's in there we leave him alone so he has a little safe space. Especially because i have tons of younger cousins who otherwise constantly want to play with him so its good for him to have his private space where he can relax and know no one is gonna bother him.

Congrats on your new puppy Buster! He's so cute! My current dog I've had since he was about 9 weeks old...I was lucky enough to have another dog at the time who helped with the potty training. He'd just follow her lead haha. BUT some things I highly recommend using are...Trifexis which is a monthly flea and heart worm preventative I the form of a pill. Works wonders!! Better than any flea prevention in liquid form. For a shampoo brand I like Tropiclean which you can buy on Amazon. The Kiwi conditioner is best and smells so good. And lastly for oral care I brush my dogs teeth with organic coconut oil. Smells good and does the trick just like tooth paste. Oh! And lastly...because I didn't do it with my older dog and wish I did. This will sound weird but I highly recommend touching your pups paws often. I did this with my current dog since he was a puppy and he doesn't fidget when anyone grabs his paws and it has DEFINITELY helped when he goes to the groomers for a nail trim.

My darling puppy wears a harness instead of a leash when we go out. She adjusted to it rather quickly and it also gives me peace of mind that we aren't putting stress on her throat and windpipe. My favorite is from Amazon by the brand Ruffwear it's the easy for me to put on and take off her.

Chlorella water in the dish bowl with brewer's yeast! I always feed my dog spring water and not tap. It's so important to feed your dog whole foods with lots of veggies (kale, broccoli, spinach) with only a minimum amount of meat products.

The bell on the door works great for potty training. Split antlers gave my puppy diarrhea so be careful! Be sure to start your puppy on a probiotic powder in his food, such as acidophilus. Some say goats milk is extremely beneficial for puppies but my puppy was fine without it. Most importantly, be sure to put him on a really good food like Orijen or Acana. There's no fillers and it's all natural ingredients that your dog should be eating.

I had a dog and cat together before my cat died (I still have my dog), but a tip is to make sure your cat is always "in charge" and make sure your dog knows that. For example l even when my cat ate the dog food my dog still had to wait for the cat to finish before she could eat her food.

Puppy is so cute!!! My suggestion is do NOT give pup a raw hide. My dog chewed on hers until she swallowed it and choked. Wasn't happy I had to pull it out of her throat. Look on Pinterest for natural food based dog treats. You can bake them and it won't have the extra preserves and chemicals in them

It helped my puppy a lot to have training treats taken outside with us to give him as soon as he went potty outside. We didn't give treats for anything else while potty training. Waiting until we got back inside to give him the treat didn't work as well.

Antlers can wearing down there teeth cuz it's like Rock hard even my vet said not to give them antlers. The nylabones are good for chewing for small dogs not so much big dogs cuz they tend to chew it so it brakes and some will eat it then it's really bad but small dogs dont brake pieces off and eat then they just chew on them.

From a fellow dog owner to another, I got my first puppy a few years ago, and like you, I never ha a puppy before that. A few pointers, I would definitely make sure you take him to some sort of training school. You'll be surprised by how hard it is to train him yourself when all you want to do is coddle him :). When my dog started getting very excited for walks, it was easier to get one of those leashes that just slip on - Remington has some really nice looking ones and are very durable (www.amazon.com/Coastal-Pet-Products-DCPR0216GRW-Remington/dp/B0017JJW1Q). Lastly, our dog loves the deer antlers as well, but she sometimes gets more satisfaction out of the split deer antlers, which just allows them to get to the marrow. You can order the antlers in bulk off of many websites. We live in Canada and there's a distributor in Alberta who sends them to us, 20 at a time. Just some pointers!
