Fantastic, yet sadly almost forgotten New York punk band from 1977. This the title song from the album Noise Addiction, which was recorded in 77, but only finally released in 2005.
Death(Detroit 1971) & Pure Hell(Philly 1974) are 2 great black punk bands , the two found the best band names ever ...& so ahead of their time ...unforgettable like Nat King Cole said

@@harleyflanagan2545 and these same people ignore a great CURRENT band like OBNOX or the great Mick Collins of the Gories, Blacktop and Dirtbombs. Too much nostalgia and not enough support for whats up NOW. Like i said before...DEATH probably set out to push the limits of rock music. In retrospect they couldnt get signed with that name and the brains refused to budge. Its a great story, but Pure Hell were obviously more aware what they were creating. How they couldnt get a record out is a mystery.

Yeah they were definitely ahead of their time and almost forgotten due to a greedy producer who wanted them to do Motown and they had the Rights to their music and threw everything away. It wasn't until Henry Rollins helped get them inducted into the African American museum of pop culture that they got recognition. But they were first wave punk and made it number 4 on the UK top hits chart.

In the documentary they spoke about wearing punk rock clothes while living in the hood and people will give them crap but eventually left them alone (similar story with me) They also once got booed offstage in the UK they thought it was for their music but they all went on stage wearing a swastika on their shirts and the Holocaust was not even 30 years prior. They also got recognition from Sid vicious.
