I always love the choice of music you play and get a lot of songs off of you :), btw in my opinion I think the direct sounds more open but the pass labs is warmer.

There is a clear difference between the two modes. Much better with the Preamp. The stereo image is more perfect, the soundstage is bigger, the microdetails even more clearer. More air between instruments and the voice is more credible/palpable.

Aurender sounds clean and clear in all the range, Fab making slightly artificial base to my ears. My amps are pretty old with Wadia systems. Seriously considering adding Aurender.

A friend here in the UK has an Aurender A30 and I would say that it has A LOT of bass. So maybe here, with the Pass in line too, it's possibly just a bit too much low end.
@TheAlphaAudio

I don't think the A30 is bass heavy to be honest. It's tight and it goes deep. But I don't think it's overdone.I know a lot of players that have more bass (romantic sounding ;-)). Think of Lumin.

Pass seems to compress highs and push them to sharpness. I’ve experienced XP20 and find a similar result. I prefer my Audio Research LS10SE SS preamp. Esp with tube ARC Ref CD9 supplying streaming or cd music sources. Whilst Pass has good bass grip eg XA25, it can sound thin…

It seemed the bass was better controlled with the pre-amp, very slight difference. When you did the did the comparison of power conditioners did the results help you choose the Isotek units, what do they do in this system and what components are connecting to them, e.g. everything, just power amps, just sources?

Ben benieuwd . Bedankt voor de demo 👍

With that noisy garbage of a track the A30 sounds better direct. But this audio track used is bloody awful. The second track was flat both were not for me. The Lorde track sounds again better direct easily. I don't like the Pass Labs at all. It would be grating after a few songs to a point I'd have to stop listening.
