I am interested to know your opinions on the fielding mechanics of this game. Pitching and Hitting wise it blows The Show out of the water, but is it just me or I feel the fielding needs more animations and smoothness?, sometimes the fielders slide and their throwing mechanics seems just a bit off. What do you think?

@Wajahat Ali ... There are some issues with Pro Yakyuu Spirits that I have. Can you please elaborate on your definition of "throwing mechanics"? Because a second reason why I made the switch from MLB the Show to PYS is because of the more realistic throwing motion by the outfielders in PYS. Maybe we're thinking about different things. Is there somewhere in the video (or any video) that shows what you're talking about (so that we're on the same page)? When we're talking about throwing 'motion' in general, such as when the outfield needs to use 'effort and exertion' to throw it long from outfield to home plate or to the cut off man, the arm angle, arm whip, body contortions, how fast the body shift from one position to the next, is still more realistically represented by Pro Spirits. Maybe you have a different definition of "mechanics"? When you say 'slide', there are definitely some 'sliding' that happens with the infielders when they receive a pass from the outfield. Not sure what Konami could not have fixed that by simply adding a bit more 'transition animations' by having more 'footplant, footsteps' towards the area of the catch.

@@strawberryyogurt0 Hey thanks for the timely reply. I have noticed sliding especially when as you said infielders are just about to receive the ball from outfielders and also when outfielders are trying to get under a fly ball. They will for a second or so slide instead of running or jogging. As for throwing mechanics, I feel in general they feel a bit "clunky", but as you regularly play this game, I feel you are in a better position to comment on throwing. Can you kindly compare The Show's throwing and Konami's throwing mechanics in general? I don't know if Konami has a similar AI logic to infielders where they will rush a throw if a real fast runner is on base like Buxton or take their sweet time gathering, pumping and then releasing the throw if a runner like Pujols is on base. I really appreciate this logic from Sony San Diego. Thanks :)

@@wajahatali1234 ... The 'sweet time' (or less urgent throwing) motion happens in both games, but I would say MLB the Show has more sweet time throwing situations. Because Nippon Baseball is all about speed, and lots of close plays at first base, the infielders need to be quick about their throws. Watch any youtube nippon baseball footage, and you can get an idea of why there's more urgency throws than sweet time throws. But yes, there are those 'take your sweet time, less urgent throws' in PYS as well. But the ratio differs between MLB the Show and PYS. If I get a chance today or this weekend I'll show upload a short vid clip of the throwing mechanics in MLB the Show (when I find them on youtube videos of MLB the Show) that aren't realistic. Not sure if I really have time though. Just a quick one that you can probaby make out, go watch any MLB the Show footage after the out at first. The first baseman will slowly cock his arm way above/and behind his head when he tosses the ball to the second baseman. And also when the first baseman throws the ball back to the pitcher after a pickoff attempt -- the first baseman has an incredibly weird throwing mechanic that isn't realistic.

@@wajahatali1234 ... Part 2: One important principle that I would like for you to look at on youtube is the animation principle (pose to pose animation, or good silhouette for animation. kzitem.info/news/bejne/qIqHp4OGoYN9iWk You'll get a better understanding for why I have visual issues with MLB the Show. The poses for MLB the Show animations and their silhouettes doesn't replicate the realistic moving of athletics. Like the pitcher motion comparison vids that I post up, the arm angles, torso contortions, head angle, when hip/shoulder separation, are considered 'poses'.

@@wajahatali1234 Part 3: Another thing to look into is the concept of "timing" in animation: example: kzitem.info/news/bejne/o5eotZ9oqWVpf4Y Some reason why MLB the Show looks unreleastic at certain times.

Are you able to covert the letters to English in this game?

@Tony Condegni Mustafa ... Unfortunately, Pro Yakyuu Spirits only comes in Japanese. Those who speak English (or any other language) use either the google translate app or the following website: www.spiritstranslation.com/game-menu

@Jojopuffs ... What’s the video time stamp of the incident? But yeah, some reason every now and then I’m not sure why it happens, but I’ve seen the slow toss to second on a couple occasions. I haven’t figured it out if it’s me and how/when I press the button, or if it’s a game design concern. I’m thinking it might be me because I’ve als done quick/fast tosses to second.

@@CubicConch .... Yep, should have gotten out of the jam at 32:32 (thanks for the time stamp). Not sure if it has to do with me timing my button press,. Maybe I should have kept pressing the throw button, or maybe I should have held the button down. The thing is that I’m not exactly sure how to replicate the slow motion throw either. So it could have been me or how the game is programmed. But honestly, something like that should never happen.
