When it comes to putting a rigid carbon fork on a mountain bike, there aren't really that many options out there. The ones that are available are pretty sweet, but they also have price tags rivaling their suspension counterparts. When I decided to get a rigid fork for my Salsa Timberjack, I found DIY Carbon bikes and decided to give their Chinese manufactured carbon forks a shot. Modeled after the Enve MTN fork but at less than half the price, I had my doubts that it would be any good or survive any form of abuse. In this video I discuss the pros and cons after a couple hundred miles of riding.
