I am sure you have probably already done this, but you might have someone who knows how to clear danger timber and widowmakers on your property, out to inspect for any dead/danger trees. Awesome driveway! TFS!

I just saw this comment. I did check with a guy, they were too expensive. So we are doing ourselves for now.

This was my first comment...since then I have seen you clear away any dangerous stuff, at least around your work area. It's not like you have huge trees there, so clearing dangers on your acre yourself is fine. Plus, now I know you handle the chainsaw well.

Yes, I have learned the chainsaw. And the Axe ;) I am a quick learner. Good times!

Looks great Drive way.In Ireland it would the cheapest a stone called pencil ,The best advise if you want a good drive way later on.Dig out the Dirth, fill in small rocks.day the size cement blocks,or if you got builders rubble for nothingThen finish with 8 0 4 it's called over here,it's a stone from size of Dust to 2 inches. line stone That the finish That will with stand the weather solid.it should not be to expensive. Then you weather may be very dry,and Drive way may be Fine,if problems in wet winters, that's the only solution long term.love the Videos

How did you find the contractor? I just bought a land in Moffat and need to put a driveway on the property too. Would you able to share the name and contact of the contractor?

That is a highlift, $45 an hour to rent one, $65 with a driver, in cash. For me, on my Hawk Point Property, I found rock cheaper than dirt. and it doesn't wash away. If you should ever need any black river bottom topsoil, you can have all you want for free. The price for a small truck of dirt is $130 a load in this area but that's only if it's a half hour drive, same with the rock which is around $90 s load. You have to be careful contractors see a woman and they see dollar signs. The old deserted highway from the year 1956 runs through my property, so I bought the highway too and only paid $2300 an acre for all that land. If you should ever think of moving to Missouri, I'll give you 20 acres for twenty years with no strings attached just pay the $20 dollar a year in taxes. Small town three miles away from large town10 miles. I keep my promises and ever put documents behind it. johann

Yes, I do get nervous about talking to contractors. 'cause I know I don't know all. The area I am in doesn't have many contractors (or people really.. pretty remote). So if you find a contractor you keep him. This guy was pretty nice and I have talked to others that paid twice as much.. so felt I wasn't out of too much. Wow land over there is pretty cheap. Thanks for the offer.. I have only been to Missouri a few times, it is nice there, but where's the mountains. lol

I was wondering if you could please help with and information on realtors. I too would love for my family to have land in Colorado. We visit the Grand Mesa area almost every year for the last five years. I think your set up is prefect. I hope to also have something like that soon

I recommend to use realtors that are in that area only.. Since my first issue was using realtor in an area outside of where I was looking. Hope you find the place of your dreams!

Clarify, it should have been road base not dirt. There is a huge difference when it gets wet.

Sorry if I said it wrong, but it is dirt and road base that he laid down. ;) I just asked him to add some more road base since the driveway is pretty steep. Some cars have a hard time getting up it. Cheers!
