Looks like a meskorol drum mower, Polish built. Good enough but less than half the price of a Disc mower here in Ireland. Old skool technology but easy to get parts for and repair.

The chain is to take care of the “tweak” look of your 3 pt, you set you 3 pt to a certain height say 19” off the ground the heavy side rests on your chain and keeps it from tweaking to one side that way when you raise and lower the drums with the hydraulics it doesn’t tweak to one side before it hit the ground, hope that made sense. Great video by the way, how is the mower holding up?

Not the biggest drum mower out there, as there are some with 4 drums. I still use an old PZ 210 from the 1970's and it's 210cm (7') wide, it's a 2 drum design with 4 blades per drum and it's built solid. It has a few features these newer mower should have like height adjustment, the skid/saucer is on a shaft that comes up through the center of the vertical drive shaft and bevel gear for the drums and connects to a threaded height adjuster on the top side of the box. The mower can really cover the ground, as fast as you can drive, it will cut.....on smooth ground you can easily do 2 Ha (5 acres) an hour.

Zetor tractor makes a 3 drum mower. It's a beast! But any drum mower is fast as hell...

Your travel speed there during testing is way, way slower than you'll want to be mowing at. With a smooth field you can mow about as fast as you can run.

Just curious to see how you check the grease/oil in these units? Do they have a fill plug or drain?

The top support bar for the drums doubles as an oil reservoir.

I have enorossi. When I took off the air breather plug and checked the level, it looks like grease instead of oil. Have you checked gear box oil yet? Edit mine has EP 0 grease

I've been thinking about buying a Tarr River drum mower. I was wondering if I could get your input on a few things. How does using a drum mower affect drying time compared to a haybine. I do have a tedder I could use. And also, how does the low cut of a drum mower affect regrowth of the feild? Would definitely appreciate your input. Thanks!

I cannot recommend the Tar River enough I am perpetually blown away by its performance the low-cut does not seem to bother the fields at all and if you Ted the hay it will dry and almost the same time in bad conditions at can a day to drying time however the bulletproof notice of the Tar River is well worth the extra time for drying absolutely 100% pleased highly recommend

All lawnmowers with drums have an issue of imbalance with the result that they appear damaged. Over time, soil enters the vertical rollers and the cutter begins to break down............

@@wildcatwilly i bought a Morra drum mower from Agrisupply. It's only 45 inch. I wasn't sure the tractor i want to use it on could handle a bigger mower. Obviously I'm not planning to bale much hay, only 4 to 6 acres at least fo now.

That really is a BS comment about European machines. Some of the best fodder and hay equipment comes from Europe. Really disappointing because I like your channel.

Can't remember what I said but the machine has certainly impressed me. I've long since sold the John Deere haybine.
