A couple years back, I threw the track on my 941 as I was finishing up a job. While clearing a spot along a trail, I was pushing some brush into the wood line when I hit a tree while turning. The track is worn and the tension cylinder leaks, so it doesn't take much to knock the track off. In any event, I caught it before the track came completely off and attempted to walk it back on. I was able to partly get it back on. However, in my haste, I didn't fully seat it and it came off the front idler wheel. I finished the clearing project with an excavator I had on site and planned to put the track back on after I had the project completed. However, the facility shuts the gates at 4:30 pm and isn't open on weekends. And, it's a bit of a drive from my home base to get there. So, getting back down there to fix it proved to be a bit of a challenge. Fortunately, the machine was out of the way back in the wood line and the facility manager didn't mind it sitting back there. So, there it sat for over 2 years until I had a couple days free to get back down there and get on it. I still had some challenges with other commitments, running out of time before they closed the gate, and missing or inoperable tools. But, we got it done and back to the house.
