Thank you for posting this! I've been trying to wrap my head around gables for a friend's shed!

That looks to be very square and very neatly done! I know thats hard to do alone because I do most things alone to

I use this as a ladder-safety training example in my day-job. The safety guys lose their minds but everyone else loves it.

Do you have a video on bottom purlin placement and that facia board?

I'd probably be shimmying out on my belly to try and stick that from the top... This method is at least upright.

somewhere an osha inspector is vomiting in their mouth looking at your "man lift"! That thing is awesome, nice job!

I showed a photo of that during "ladder safety" training at work and it was a real hit.

I love this idea for overhang. But isn't the bottom of the rake board not in line with the rest of the row of rafters of it's flush with top of purlins? Seems it would be 1-1/2 inches higher than all the rest of the rafter bottoms....

Correct, but as it's a trim board there is no strict reason it has to line up or be related to the rafters. Really, it just needs to work with your trim and soffit design.

You need to build yourself a custom man basket for your tractor instead of using that rickety old pallet...
