I kick myself for not buying your standard issue field in 38mm back in 2019/20 when they were listed for around 950.00. Your watches at the price now are more in line of where I believe they should be but boy what a deal and value that was. To be honest I was new to watches and was nervous to jump into an independent. I am not currently in a position to get the watch from you that I want but, I will save and be patient! Cameron, keep doing what you are doing, keep pushing the boundaries and keep the dream alive. I love the videos and the passion! PS save the manuals! Bring back the small seconds mechanical 38 haha

Cameron, happy to hear your looking for people to employ. It portends good things both for yourself and the industry as a whole. As for the inexpensive tools to take on watch repair , it scares me. Fine tip screwdrivers not tempered correctly have been known to add both time and money to an otherwise inexpensive undertaking… just saying. As a devout amateur watch tinkerer, I may just look you up if/when my wife convinces me it’s time to leave NYC 😉 Love the Q&A this time around and look forward to seeing and hearing you service a watch !

I live in north Texas. I was afraid a few winters ago when it got really cold, and the power was out for a few days. After the power came back on, I went through my staking set and other steel tools and wiped them down with an oiled rag. Luckily, I didn't see much rust on anything. I normally keep them lightly oiled anyway.

For your next Q&A, there are watches out there like Traska that use 316L surgical grade stainless steel for their cases and bracelets. This typically measures 200HV on the Vickers hardness scale, however after their proprietary hardening treatment is applied they achieve a hardness rating of almost 1200HV. I have one of these watches, the previous owner had it for a year, me, several months, it looks like new. How hard is it to do this, what are other Harding options and watches and is this something Weiss will ever do?

I read about that with Traska and I wonder why more companies have not utilized that type of treatment.

Can you make a video, with info - how and from waht to start, when you want to build your onw clock or watch? I seriously thinking about that, im a amateur, collecting tools and knowledge, theres not many watchmakers in my region, all schools was closed in 80/90 after cold war was ended... and Poland has first free governmnt... The quartz was deadly end for watcmaking in poland. Now, we have MAciej Misnik who won F.P. Journe Young Talent Competition in 2022 (watchmaker in 3rd row of familly watchmakers), but nothing else and nothing special... What is the most problematic? What is the best checkpoint? What is the best test? And.. if this piece will be build, how to step up to build more and sell watch?
