To all of the people that have met Greg (as I have) these videos are "what you see is what you get". I truly admire Greg for having the balls to do something that is challenging and rewarding, and more to the point I would not reveal anything to anyone that is "enquiring" about how much the bar makes or you both make. ITS NO ONES BUISNESS EXCEPT YOURS! Go team Greg and Ying!

You are spot on, I am married to a Thai lady for 15yrs. I have been to Pattaya many many times and I’ve seen many bars go belly up with the one common factor, the boss was pissed off his head every night. Owning a bar and not becoming an alcoholic is a feet in itself. The only drawback I see with your place is a lack of foot traffic so it’s all word of mouth for you with a little help from KZitem. I’m over for Christmas new year in Buriram but I will be heading down to Pattaya for at least 4 days without the wife in tow, at 60 the only mischief I get up to is having a few to many and going to bed early. Good luck Greg, you remind a little of another Greg. Greg and Kenny who had the boxing Roo Bar 10yrs ago or so.

There is a shit ton of people looking to move or retire in Thailand right now, me included. You've done it and I'm interested in how it pans out for you. It sounds like you've got a solid plan with the bar, and as an expat I like a clean kitchen and quality food, so I'll pay a few exta baht to visit your bar rather than the grotty one next door. Best of luck and I'll call in when I''m there in November.

Greg mate, I wouldn’t of even answered that stupid question about working illegally in your bar. Haters are just jealous cause you’re living the dream and making a real go of it. More power to you my brother. Looking forward to twisting my elbow at parmy’s in October. So happy for your success.

I actually appreciate Greg being open about all that stuff, as I find it interesting. I don't think it really matters if the figures are out in the open, because as Greg says, any business will stand or fall on how it is run. Coming from a business family I can see he has the 'know how' and the 'can do' to make it work. You could give the same information and start up capital to 10 different people and they'd all get different results. Cheers all.

Good video and insight, thanks for posting. A couple of questions for the next one if I can? Regarding the whole work/can't work subject will you be going down the road of registering a company to get the right VISA, permission to work and any other legal benefits? I agree with your thoughts - you've got to keep busy with something and if you've got the work permit you'll never have to worry about a neighbour dobbing you in because you picked up a glass or moved a broom. About money, you're spot on and shouldn't need to explain it. Not only is your private matters but it's commercially correct to keep your finances private as well. With that said - would you know enough details to answer the earnings question for other bar types? For example, stand alone bars closer to beach, bigger bars near you, smaller, etc. How seasonal are earnings? If more guys knew the numbers they'd be less inclined to get burnt in a business they're not familiar with. Thanks again for putting the time into the videos and sharing a picture of how it all goes.

Mark, you sound upset about something. As they say - if the content bothers you, why watch it? I know what you mean about earning West and spending East but it's not all about the coin. Palmy's story is a good example of other reasons to make the move. None of us are getting younger. Sometimes it's time to get involved and have a go while we've still got some go left in us. About KZitem and income, from what I watch just about any video related to a bar in Thailand is demonetised now. Same if a car drives past with the radio on while someone is filming. KZitem ain't getting rich by giving it all away. But that's hardly a fault of the creators. Palmy may not get rich from YT and the bar business has its sharp edges. But he's running a good game renovating the bar like he has and promoting it on social media. That'll get people coming in. If something has got you bothered then I hope your day/night gets better asap.

Hi mate, I’m visiting your vlog from Scotland.. nice deal you got going over there, looks great. I wanted to comment on the comment you read out that made you angry, and your previous responses to other observations you read out and what I noticed. In my experience it’s a character in the bar, anyone, could be you , could be Palmy, or even one of your staff, but think in this case it has to be you, that people go to the bar for. They don’t go just for the pool or the Aussie rules footy, they want to relate to a person. As you’re the one doing a vlog people go there expecting to see you. I get the impression you’re not there enough and that’s going to disappoint a guest who’s coming to your place because of the vlog. That’s because people like you from your vlog, and expect to be an immediate buddy when they get there for the first time. Have you considered this?

I agree with you Greg regarding working in the background for your bar as I do exactly the same with our restaurant , sucks not to be able to do anything but too risky not to follow the laws of the land. About the illegal immigrant question put to you , I noticed that you stated at the start that you do not like illegal immigrants working in your country , but what if some of them are in the position where they employ Australians . Personally I have no problem with illegal immigrants working in my country , but I have a huge problem when they receive more benefits than Australian citizens or take Australians jobs , but if they bring enough finances to start a business then go for it but it should be like Thailand where they have to employ Thai nationals. Sorry I am just catching up on some of your videos so I can have a better understanding of everything . PS: Scottish born came to Australia with family as 10 pound poms and lived in Australia for 53 years before moving to Thailand.

Staying away from booze is very easy for me in TH as I can't stand the taste of all those revolting lagers. German or craft ok but then they are the exception therefore save $$$$ and healthier too. Why waste 2000 on a night on the piss have a massage, screw, and food for that with no hangover.

Bottom line is there are two sides to a coin. Providing 6 people with income at your money risk, is providing welfare, regardless the technicalities. Obviously complacency should never be a thing though , in relationships or business.....I reckon the only red flag could be location, long run, but that's just speculation. Relocation not impossible am guessing, though it looks like a nice place....🙂

About the guy with his illegal immigrant question.... seriously, just don't even reply to their questions, mate. These guys are just trolls and you're feeding them by responding to them. I've heard accounts from other KZitemrs with 250k subscribers and the jealousy, negative comments, and hatred that they have had to endure as they increased their subscriber numbers - just ignore their comments and focus on positive people.
