That is good to know about the amount of time required for being North/south of the border. I’m sure things are pretty similar here in Manitoba.

Yeah, 28 foot isn't too large. I have a 26 footer and think it's about the right size of me. But down here in the Lake Havasu area I'm just shocked to see the number of huge 40+foot class A's driving around, often with tow vehicles.

Yes, I guess each person has their own reasons for the rigs they choose. I'm glad you've found the one that works for you. We like ours but hoping to have a tow vehicle soon as that will make things a bit easier.

@@LivingLightRV Yep, that's why I have my scooter. It makes such a difference. I just went up to Parker Dam, but because they don't let RVs up there, I took my scooter off a mile down the road and went up. Doing a video on it now!

November X-Ray, our trailer, is a 32 foot hitch pull. It's small enough to easily manoeuvre but large enough to accommodate numerous dogs, grand children, and well fed friends. We upgraded from our first trailer NXR 1, largely because of the need for a slide.

My husband I want to get a truck and 5th wheel when we retire in a few years. How do you handle health insurance while in the states and is it expensive?
@LivingLightRV
3 жыл бұрын
The Canadian Snowbird Association has a lot of information about health and travel insurance in the states. The price fluctuates a lot depending on your medical situation, age, how long you'll be travelling, etc. Sorry I can't really give you more details, but here's the link for the CSA. www.snowbirds.org/

I have to apologize! Kent had talked about the generator but I felt like the video was starting to drag on so I made him cut that part out!! LOL - sorry about that. Yes, we do have a generator that we use occasionally (mostly to run the espresso machine!). We stay in campgrounds about 2/3 of the time and boondock the rest. Have fun with your prep for fulltime RV life!

My husband and I are seriously considering this lifestyle (Canada) and we are looking for information regarding how to deal with the winters! Any suggestions? Also, do you boondock or do you pay for your sites?
@LivingLightRV
4 жыл бұрын
Basically, our plan is to go south for the winter and we've done that for two years now. People do stay in Canada in RVs for the winter but it is very expensive (for the resources needed to stay warm) and I'd rather live in the warm sunshine, thanks! LOL We have a Thousand Trails membership so we can stay at those RV parks for one annual fee and, in the meantime, we boondock. Thanks for hanging out with us and feel free to keep asking questions! Here are a couple of our older videos that give a bit more information about fulltime RV life so maybe they will be helpful to you. @@LivingLightRV ... We were visiting Sault Ste Marie, Canada... As we crossed the bridge from Michigan, I told my 10 yr old son, "Now son, Canadians talk a little different - they say Aye after everything!!" He says, "Yeah, right dad... " Our FIRST stop in Canada was at the hotel... He walks in with me... The lady at the counter says "Checking in, Aye?" My son looked at me like I was the smartest man on Earth! (Savor those moments, they're rare..)
