I feel like people always ask women when they’re getting married or having kids and what their dating life looks like, but I don’t see the question being posed to men as hard. Those are personal questions, and they don’t need to know if you don’t want them to. Don’t feel bad for setting boundaries for yourself. You don’t owe an answer to them

ER resident who just wanted to say that I have a happy and healthy relationship with a man who wouldn't be considered traditionally successful or "my equal". But he is hardworking, smart, and just a really great husband. He's much less neurotic than I am and brings me back down to earth when I need it. All that to say: what someone does for a living and their long term ambitions are less important that having a partner who supports you and loves you unconditionally.

I’ve been watching you for a few years now and I straight up get teary eyed when you talk about your journey, your confidence, and the struggles of becoming a doctor. There aren’t many female Latina physicians in general, so seeing you do the thing has been an immense source of pride and inspiration as a fellow Latina girly in medicine :) I recently got into medical school so it would be pretty cool to have a physical reminder of someone I strive to be like. I hope you know how many lives you’ve touched (and not just as a physician)❤️❤️

All those years I’ve watched you be a teeny person with a huge ambition and now you’re in full bloom even though you’re still in residency…that is amazing. You came a really long way by yourself and that is truly motivating and why I continued to watch you. I am applying to PA school next year thanks to all the motivating solo study videos you have made and vlogs on your daily life. I even remember you went to Alaska solo during your very first video (after a breakup I think?) and I knew you were something different!! As a side, I’d love your bag America. Things have been hard for me as a single mommy one 1, currently in grad school and living in friends and families homes while I hustle and save for my little family. I truly love all you do, please post more vlogs. We want to see what you do in a day!! On your days off, or fam get together again (loved those too!) happy holidays to you and calyx 💓🎁

I feel ya I’m a second year OBGYN resident in my early thirties, no dating prospects while everyone around me was partnered coming into residency, and I just decided a few days ago that if there’s any way to fit an ovulation stim cycle into my schedule (which will be very hard with the amount of follow up you need leading up to egg retrieval), I’m gonna do it. I’m actually on an REI rotation right now and even though I never wanted kids, the amount of people with low ovarian reserve in their late thirties who regretting not freezing their eggs is heartbreaking. At this point I won’t be on a rotation where I’ll have that flexibility until the next year, but 33 is better than 35 is better than 37 🤷🏼♀️

Hi America, I have been watching you since undergrad. I actually was planning on sticking with my bachelors and didn't think I had it in me to go to medical school. When I watched your videos it gave me confidence that I could go into medicine and would watch your videos during my study breaks and each time it pushed me to apply to medical school even more. I ended up applying and now I am a 3rd year med student. I think seeing another woman in medicine and seeing someone as empathetic encouraged me to be that kind of doctor. It would be awesome to have the bag on rotations, but more importantly I am glad I got to share why your videos mean a lot to me. Thank you for being you and sharing your story! :)

There are a lot of different ways to have a family with kids. you don't have to have a marriage You're young so I know that may not resonate with you but stay open to the possibilities. I personally don't believe that everyone gets the romantic, dream partner, soulmate, happy marriage. But I do believe there are many different ways to feel happy, fulfilled and loved in this life. And I promise you will find that-whether in a marriage or not.

We’ve watched you grow up. Despite not having the confidence we all know you are capable of you still do not cease to inspire. You are one of the contributing reasons I am in nursing school. Thank you for deciding to continue your videos. I appreciate your “day in the life” pieces. Being in the medical field is no joke yet, so rewarding at the end of a long day. America, it is so lovely seeing you grow as a surgeon and a person over the years - I have been watching since your early med school days and you have been an immense source of inspiration for myself. I am currently completing my psychology undergrad and hoping to get into med school and eventually become a neurosurgeon, neurologist or psychiatrist. I love the brain and it is one of my biggest passions in life. I would love the chance to win your bag as I feel it would be a constant reminder that I can carry with me throughout my studies and be reminded of your warmth, determination and grit. I am in awe of you as a woman and the way you have never given up - I have had a rocky and more extended undergrad study length due to personal mental health struggles as well as struggling (and now recovered) from an eating disorder I was hospitalised for. I know some people would say 'it's just a bag' but for me those objects that carry such personal significance and can actively remind me to continue forward are some of the best ways to bring beauty into the ordinary life and even the more difficult and stressful times. I know that whoever wins the beautiful bag will carry it with pride

I really needed to hear what you say about confidence because I’ve been struggling with it since beginning residency. But I’m working on it, and notice the growth and small wins daily and hopeful I’ll get to a place where I believe in myself 🙏🏽 also yes it’s rough out here as a single female surgeon in training lol. I just ended a relationship with a fellow surgery intern and felt that we were the most compatible, but it was hard with our schedules for sure. You're beautiful. You are a GREAT CATCH. I am also in medical school (preparing for residency). I just got in a relationship (I used a dating app) but I met MANY frogs before then. I was even engaged, and medical school did not work with my relationship then, and the breakup took place before my 2nd year. The truth is that many men will date women in the medical field for the wrong reasons. It gets sad sometimes, but when I was single, I kept telling myself that it is better to be single than with the wrong person. I am also freezing my eggs next year when I start residency. Be patient with yourself, finish your career and continue on with those high standards!

Hi America, so great to see another video of yours! I've been following you since before I started medical school and you've been my constant source of motivation throughout med school. I also love the color and design of your bag (ever since I saw it in your "What's in my bag" video). It would have a very special meaning in my heart if I were to receive it in this giveaway :)

I love your videos and every time I’m not motivated to study I watch one of your studying-session videos, that helps me a lot. I’m applying for general surgery next year hopefully I match ♥️

America! I’ve been watching you since high school and I’m now a grad student and will be applying to medical school next year! You’ve been such an inspiration through this difficult journey. I really admire your positive and down-to-earth outlook and really hope to channel you in my journey to/in medical school. I’d love to enter your giveaway to have a tangible reminder that anything is possible as long as I work hard ❤

Hey America :) I've been following you for quite a while now and you've been an incredible inspiration to me throughout my own journey to med school. I'm currently a master's student studying neurotoxicology and will be applying to med school this coming cycle. I would be so grateful for your bag, you've been a consistent reminder to me that hard work, focus, and perseverance will get you to your goals. I've also always appreciated having you as a female role model. So much of the world and people tell us that women should be this way and/or react that way and I've always been so grateful for your vulnerability in how you handle life, goals, and the hardships of med school/residency. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

Hi America! You and your videos have help me through so much over the year. I remember watching you from the very very beginning! At times when I felt alone and like I couldn’t do it anymore I would sit there and just play your “study with me videos” so I wouldn’t feel alone. Life has been so hard lately, but I’m still pushing towards working on the end goal of being a Pediatric Oncology Nurse. Winning this giveaway would mean that I will have a piece of you! Something that shows and motivates me to keep going. If only you knew how much of a difference you have made in my life and how much I thank you for it! ❤️🥹
