Love the videos. Quick question, how to you have your camera mounted? I cant help but notice the background shift from left to right throughout the video.

Hi Mike. I would like an affordable guitar from my birth year of 1976. Prefer telecaster or strat but have been put off by the bad reputation. Any suggestions?

Find a lightweight 76 hardtail strat . Or a tele custom or deluxe with the wide range humbuckers those are killer sounding guitars

Hi Mike, I truly appreciate you taking the time to educate us all, and I have a simple request. I think that your delivery, and tone of voice, are delightful and don’t need any background sound as a compliment. Please Nix the buzzing noise in the background. It’s a great distraction to me. I don’t know how others feel, but you’d sound great without the bee hives. Thanks, JJZ…(°¿.°`)

I understand that 59 bursts are so expensive because they didn't make many, therefore, why don't people rave about the 59 non bursts? Identical guitars just with a different finish at a fraction of the price. The paint colour finish doesn't make it play any better just because there was less of them painted that colour. Identical wood, glue, shape, pick ups...etc etc.

It's just because the legends (Clapton, Beck, Green, Duane, etc) chose to use the burst models. I believe Clapton set the trend.

Unlike today, the sunburst wasn’t just one color option in the lineup, if you bought a Les Paul Standard in 1959 it was a burst unless you custom ordered it in a different color (usually black) So in ‘59 the only non-burst Les Pauls you can find are Juniors, Specials and Customs. Juniors and Specials are still amazing guitars but having P90s and no top on the Mahogany body make them inherently different beasts. Customs too have several differences including binding and appointments, much smaller frets, ebony fingerboard vs. rosewood, and an all mahogany body versus the maple top on a burst. Not to mention the added pickup among other changes. All great guitars, but there really wasnt a solid body guitar made by Gibson in 1959 with big frets, rosewood board, maple top and PAFs that isn’t a Burst. (There are a few anomalies but those are also priced into the stratosphere)

Can you let me know where this discount stock of previously unknown and uncirculated custom colour option ‘59 Les Paul Standards is please! I promise I’ll cut you in! 😂

All of them were bursts . I think you mean flametop or plaintop in reference to the grains in the wood. Yes if you dont need flame you can save some money and still get a great ‘burst’
