90% of doctors I know regret having selected medicine as a career, the hours, dealing with insurance companies, the time it takes to become a doctor

@@Mrst3lios89 While I appreciate your good vibes (I really do, so thank you), it doesn't change how miserable this entire process is. I've lost a lot of joy in life and I'm constantly put down and made to feel inferior in spite of my efforts. It's incredibly demoralizing and I regret, with every fiber of my being, choosing to become a doctor

A seemingly noble profession is only as noble in its intention, as the one who fills the role. It's not that there is anything wrong with a particular profession but rather a question of if the person filling that role is respectable or not. Going into medicine isn't inherently noble or respectable just like everything else. People get too caught up in that, in their pride, instead of doing it right and knowing that you did it right, then you can be proud. But no matter what you do you'll never avoid scrutiny, some deserve to be criticized and reprimanded while others don't but receive it anyways.

Is this serious? That is his justification? To highlight flaws or undesirable features of other professions? I'd be surprised if during his med school interview he said "I want to help people, it's the far better profession" as a reason for becoming a doctor.

Lawyers exist so that the doctor actually does his job properly and doesnt screw over his patients. Otherwise the doctor gets sued for malpractice.

Without me, you cease to exist. It is the only profession where I can feel like a God. And that is why its so hard and involving so not everyone can do it. So not everyone can feel like a God.

Exactly, there are countless professions that are much more important than medical professionals in various contexts.... farmers, engineers, accountants (auditors, forensic accountants), scientists of all sorts.....medical field from my experience are filled with very rude and pretentious individuals.

@mamatengotos1 He mentioned business fields and the money aspect, but many people become doctors and nurses just for the money. They use their desire for "helping people" as a smokescreen, but it's really the money

I’m sorry but for me #1 problem with medicine is bratty entitled people with attitudes that literally think it’s ok to harass you. Like I hate calling people. It’s the bane of my existence. I never know if I’m going to get cussed out or thanked. And 9/10 I’m a messenger. Who the F wants to do that 24/7? On top of everything else. Corporate business. Big tech. Constant change you have to adapt to readily or else you risk discipline. On top of renewing certifications and licenses either yearly, biannually or every 5 years depending, you have to do like 10-20 online education modules that take quite some time to do!!!
