enjoyed until the last clip. how is that the best of sandi toksvig? of all the brilliant things she's said, you end it on a clip with a joke she's barely part of running on a bit long, and another comedian making the joke at their expense. how could that be chosen over the time she almost immediately guessed what the chainsaw was originally invented for? it's a bit of a let down for a "best of" compilation of such an intelligent, hilarious woman to finish on a man going "women talk too much"
@byootifoullaif5722

I completely agree. And what an unoriginal joke too. A good, easy way to shut up women in a space where they are always underrepresented. It's true, there are rarely ever two women on one panel. I think also, that maybe they went on a bit longer than usual because of the pressure to take up such a serious issue of sexism without being seen as a feminist killjoy. Which is why it was so disappointing that it ended with such a mindless joke that challenged no stereotypes and instead played on them.
@osirisgolad
7 жыл бұрын
ByootifoulLaif It's not funny because of the contents of the joke. It's funny because it was timed to perfection and used what Ronni Ancona was saying against her in a witty and sarcastic manner which plays on one of the very stereotypes related to the topic at hand. I think certain people find male comedians funnier because we have been conditioned to find sexist and racist jokes funny. The white male comedians can either be original, or lazy. The lazy ones still do OK because they can make sexist jokes, and then just say a word after that, to make it seem like they were only mucking around. They will get a laugh for being sexist, because people are used to that kind of humour, and then a laugh for saying “oooooh”. It’s shorthand for, “ooer, aren’t I being a naughty little boy?” Watch some older white comedians and you’ll hear loads of sexist and racist rubbish. I personally find female comedians funnier. Their humour is often more original. They get to explore areas untouched by male comedians. Sarah Millican makes me laugh so much.

She looks so different as a panelist, almost like she lost weight specifically for taking over as host

Sooo, a 15 yr old smoking 2 packs a day has a life expectancy of 5 years... I'm going to need to see some documented proof, except I think that theory will already be dead before I see it :p

Yeah, but why was it in the best of Sandi Toksvig video? "We ran out of clips of Sandi, so here's one of another comedian making a joke at her expense"

Clearly the uploader has an agenda. He misses Stephen Fry as the host and can't get over QI has changed.

My *god* Ronni's pseudo-surreal adlib about pens of comediennes was dire, but then that's why Jack's joke was so good.

Sandi is a joy to watch. So glad she took Stephen's place when he retired from QI. She is a perfect fit.

I'm guessing the thing with bananas is that they're high in potassium, and one of the isotopes, potassium-40, is radioactive. It's only about 120 in every million potassium atoms, but that's still enough that about 15 atoms in a banana decay each second. Move a truckload of them, and there's enough radioactivity to actually set off radiation detectors at US points of entry.

Isn't the banana thing just to do with time. So it might take 4 years to eat 1000 bananas. So it's just the increase in the likelihood of dying as you get older.

Sandi and Ronni going great guns ...... then Jack Dee slays it with, " Is it because once you get 'em started they don't shut up? " QI, quite indesputably the best show on TV.
