The way the architect envisioned the shape of the sails made it completely impossible to build economically, because each segment would have to be individually designed and constructed. Those in charge of construction called in an engineer who proposed radically changing the shape of the sails so they were all parts of the same sphere, so the segments could be mass produced. One of the reasons (but not the only one) the architect resigned. But it meant the Opera House actually got built instead of being a beautiful white elephant.

I find there are a few times where guests bring up something that has been shared in previous episodes, but they are laughed at for thinking such a thing. Quite the case of intellectual elitism, especially when said contestant isn't thought of as being intellectual.

Not in Turkey. In Turkey, only men are allowed to slather themselves in olive oil, squeeze themselves into tight leather (if i remember correctly) shorts and wrestle each other, thrusting their hands down (or up) each others shorts. Also, homosexuality is illegal in Turkey, I believe... Makes you wonder how that sport came to be...

It's the same with the "invasion" known as the Glorious Revolution done by Willem III of Orange, Stadholder of the Netherlands, King of England. Some say it is the most recent succesful invasion onto UK soil, others say it can't be an invasion if he was invited.

There's a wrestling move called an "oil check" where you put one or more fingers in the opponents anus to shock them or make the uncomfortable, so it's quite funny that a wrestling event involving oil forbids "checking the oil". this may be legend, but i heard that originally it was planned to have this beautiful upside down sculpted wave ceiling, to fit in with the location and designed to produce wonderful acoustics. however there were budget cuts and they couldn't do it so they were stuck with the basic ceiling not properly optimised :/

I have sung in the concert hall, and the acoustics are okay. Nothing special, but I sang in a live recording in there and it sounds fine. Don't know about the opera hall.

Not terrible, but not amazing. The seats are pretty cool though, they mimic the acoustics of a person so it sounds the same full as it does empty, for audio engineers to test shows
