The older models were not 1000 W peak. They were two 500 W RMS amps, one for the high frequency driver and one for the LF driver. Just pointing that out

Hi there. Firstly Thanku for the videos. I’ve watched quite a few of them in the last few days. You have an amazing knowledge and I’m sure you’ve helped hundreds of people make an advised selection. I have a couple of questions, my background is a singer , singing to backing tracks. I currently have a Fohhn lx150 system and love the overall sound I get from it. What I don’t like is that it’s large and the lx150s are very long. Because I take passengers with me and have to have a very big car. I’d like a smaller system with a lot of quality and decent volume. Would you suggest Evox 12 or wacky 12.2.

I would suggest the Evox 12 Alan or maybe the Evox 8 would be adequate as you're looking for that smaller system

Hi Opaz! Does it worth to buy 2 qsc k8 (or 8.2)? I want them to complete my system and help my speakers qsc k12 when I need some extra sound, and also to fill better the location. I like very much de dispersion of them. What do you think? Should I buy two of that or should I search other options more powerful - they have only 127 db - maybe buy another pair of K12. As an aside, regarding what you said below, I consider that the 8" speaker is better matched with a 12" or 15" sub. QSC k8 + rcf 705 as mk2 shounds really nice. The sub is powerful and is more musical than kw181. In this combination you have all the freq range. Regarding my last comment - Can 2 x K8 + 2 x 15" subs handle live applications well - max 150 persons? Or always should I carry my K12 speakers? Thanks in advance!

2 K8's are a good idea . .. 8.2 or 8 , that's a tough one. With the K8 you have that incredible DEEP setting which comes in handy with the low freqs if you're using them alone but if you're pairing with subs the 8.2 in my opinion (although more expensive) is the better choice .. K8's and 15" subs is a great idea ... This smaller more portable setup will always be needed for those smaller venues or events with fewer guests or where background music or speech is its main use the 8's are ideal. 2 x K8's and 2 x 15" subs will cater for a 150 crowd. Don't worry about 127db , it's loud enough.

OPAZ thanks! Probably will be k8s - since they are 2 x 499 € vs 2 x 699 €. I am not sure if the difference for a pair worths 400€

OPAZ many thanks! My K8s just arrived and they are really worth buying. I'm very happy 👍😁WOW a lot of bass from a 8" woofer. I've made a short video - where the k8s were FLAT - kzitem.info/news/bejne/1WydqZ2hopWCh2k. Now I am searching for some portable subwoofer - I like very much the kw181 but I'm also trying to find something light 26-30kg

Still has that cheap plastic that scratches so easy. The biggest downfall! You have to be ultra careful when using as floor monitors.
@opaz.
7 жыл бұрын
Maybe to maintain its lightweight , keeping costs down , avoiding the use of a thick heavy ply without sacrificing sound. Scuffs on plastic maybe easier to disguise over chipped ply. Very hard for any speaker to avoid the tough life of touring

Qsc has probably over a billion hours of speaker design and testing and douche bags can discredit or criticize all their painstaking work and research in 16 minutes with speakers sitting in their couch unbelievable
