Hi Barry, yes, same with me, and my QR8PABT is new. It does, however, seem to work for the amount of time I need it to, though. My problem is that using the hand-held mic I literally cannot move away from the speaker, even a few feet, or the mic will cut out. I'm wondering if I haven't 'flipped a switch' I should have. I know nothing about the QR8PABT (or any other speaker) and it was pot-luck to get it working in the first place (I'm a wedding celebrant) My unit doesn't have aerials. Does anything come to mind that I can try?

You definitely need aerials. The range is not fantastic anyway but without aerials the range will be severely limited. If you have no aerials a conveniently inserted piece of wire may help.

It may be less convenient but a lead microphone will be more stable and less likely to let you down.

Difficult to say but I would ensure that the wireless mic is working line of sight with the receiver, anything in the way will affect the signal, particularly if it is a VHF system. UHF tends to be less affected. Thanks for your comments.

I'm pretty sure orange means charing and green means charged, so you would want it to go orange when plugged in?
