Well, *some* CEs have an Exact Math Engine (EME). As far as I know only the TI 83 Premium CE has this feature. Also if you just press [zoom] then scroll down to ZSquare, it wont stretch out the graph. *EDIT* in your code you used this command, why didn't you tell us about that in your video? What emulator are you using? Is it TI's official one or a third party emulator? It looks a little strange to be TI's to me. About the program though, it looks really good! I like how you made it not display decimals. Also, *thank you* for cleaning up when the program is finished! This shows a lot about your programming abilities that people really appreciate! I thought your 'how to send the file' part was a little too brief for the average student just looking for a quick Quadratic solver. Perhaps you could include a link to TI-Connect CE in your description? A few small things I liked. 1. Your calculator is up-to-date! Whether this was intentional or not, it's always nice to see someone that cares enough to update their calculator. :D 2. You commented your code! That made is much easier to see what you did! 2.5. :Lbl DD :"This was a nightmare I died of laughter Some programming tips: 1. Please dont put a Goto statement within a loop or an If-Then-Else statement. When you do this you create something called a memory leak. Memory leaks will gradually slow your program down untill it errors out due to lack of RAM. You can learn more about them here: tibasicdev.wikidot.com/memory-leaks 2. If you are only going to put one line of code under an If statement, you don't need the Then nor End statement. Goto statements in these types of If statements do not produce memory leaks. ex. :If A>1 :6+A->B *EDIT* oh I see you already kind of know about this. Please use it more! :) 3. When making multiple Disp commands, you don't need a new Disp per line, you could optimize it to: :Disp "This is on the first line","the comma puts","the string on the","next line" *Note:* This does not work with the Output( command. 4. You can use Graph Data Bases (GDB found under [vars]>[3] and used with commands StoreGDB and RecallGDB ) To easily store the current graph state and recall it at the end of a program. If you'd like to learn more about programming, I'd highly suggest looking at www.Cemetech.net and tibasicdev.wikidot.com/home as they are great resources for programming! I'd love to see you program some more!

TheLastMillennial Your comment was by far the longest one I ever read. Lots of constructive criticism which I appreciate. I cannot address all the points you made except a few: the TI-83 CE is not available in the United States, and as far as I am aware, the USA version of the OS does not (yet?) have the “exact mode” which was demonstrated in France or Canada. So, this program manually does that. Yes I know my code is far from clean however It works well enough for every test case I tried and it was a serious pain in the butt to refactor the code to work on the other TI-84 Plus with a smaller screen and no text handling functions.

I downloaded your latest version and used the CE file for my TI-84 plus CE, but when it was uploaded to my calculator the program was empty. Do you have any troubleshooting help for this? Thanks!

Yep. The file, QUADPROF-84PLUS.8xp is the program for the older TI-84 Plus silver edition, and the file, QUADPROF-CE.8xp is for the newer TI-84 CE. the newer file uses some programming instructions that don't exist on the older model and thus, it won't accept the file.

Unfortunately, my IBM computer died a long time ago and all we have left is a MAC BOOK PRO that is already 5 years old. It looks like a great program but the MAC doesn’t work exactly the same so I am stuck with the decimal format on my TI-84.

Irish Chocolate No, you can use the MacBook Pro, even and older one, to transfer the program. Texas Instruments has the previous version of TI Connect and it should work. Don’t give up, you can do this! :)

Andrew Borne You are right. If needed, I can call TI on Monday and they can guide me through it. I only did it on an IBM in the past.

Andrew Borne Actually my wife’s computer is so old the representative at TI said the computers operating system was not compatible and my wife won’t upgrade it. So I will send my TI into Amazon for a trade in. Casio graphing calculators will automatically display exact answers so you don’t need a program.
