In this video, I go through the process of setting up Photoshop to use Roy Harrington's QTR Stepwedge Tool to get a measurement file from a flatbed scan or a simple 21-step target.
This method used the Tiffen or KodaK Q-13 Gray Scale to first calibrate the scan to correct for any inconsistency in the scanner. It then uses a simple selection to get the measurements from each patch in the 21-step target.
I also demonstrate how to use the measurement file to linearize a sample QTR curve with my QuadToneProfiler-Pro software. The same method can be used to calibrate or linearize a quad curve for digital negatives as well when using mt QuadToneProfiler-QuickCurve-DN or QuadToneProfiler-Pro-DN software.
