Roman BRAVO-YOUNG trains out of Nittany Lion Wrestling Club; located in State College, Pennsylvania.
Bravo-Young has previously represented the United States in international competition. He was U-17 World Team member in freestyle wrestling. Bravo-Young then placed second at the U-20 U.S. Open Tournament and grabbed a gold medal from the U-20 Pan-American Championships. 🇺🇸
In 2023, Bravo-Young announced he would be transferring and representing Mexico in freestyle, his grandparents' native country. Bravo-Young claimed the Mexican National Qualifier title, wearing the Mexican singlet for the first time.
In December, Bravo-Young claimed the Mexico Grand Prix title down at 57kg, defeating all three opponents by technical fall. 🇲🇽
To start off January 2024, Bravo-Young claimed a gold medal from the Grand Prix de France Henri Deglane, scoring wins over African champion Diamantino Iuna Fafé of Guinea Bassau and U.S. National Team member Daniel Deshazer.
In March, Bravo-Young competed at the Pan American Olympic Qualification Tournament, in an attempt to qualify Mexico for the Summer Olympics. After victories over Enrique Herrera Huar and Pedro Mejías to make the semifinals, Bravo-Young was able to defeat Óscar Tigreros to become an Olympian, and will now be competing in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
Bravo-Young was a collegiate student-athlete at Penn State University; located in State College, Pennsylvania. He hails from Tucson, Arizona, where he went 182-0 and won four state titles. At Penn State, Bravo-Young compiled a 101-10 record, winning NCAA Division-1 National titles at 133lbs in 2021 and 2022. He placed second in 2023, losing just once in the NCAA D-1 National final to Cornell University’s Vito Arujau, and was a four-time All-American.

Enrique Armando HERRERA HUACRE is a Peruvian freestyle wrestler. He won the silver medal in the men's 57kg weight class at the 2022 Bolivarian Games held in Valledupar, Colombia. Herrera Huacre won the bronze medal 57kg at the 2022 South American Games held in Asunción, Paraguay.
