@NoTraceFound
9 ай бұрын
@@ls1jeeper The flaps are what you can see folded down on the inner half-ish of the wings when he's coming in to land (there's some great shots from the outside where you see them), they give the plane for lift when flying slow (landing/taking off), but also creates more drag, which is why you bring them up when you wanna go fast. The way he uses them to "jump off" when taking off is basically going fast and just bumping the flaps to create a ton of lift right when he needs it, instead of having them down and dragging along while accelerating. Hope that makes sense! Normal use of flaps is nothing like what you see these guys doing haha.

Congratulations 🇺🇸🦅🏁💸 I believe this is the first time a rookie has won. I can already see Cleetus on Barnstormers looking for a old J3 Cub to put a 300hp Steve Henry Yamaha engine on. Building new wings with big flaps and a Acme Suspension kit to run the unlimited class. He will never be happy in the stock class. Make friends with Steve, your going to need him…lol. This racing excites me! I have never seen this before. I am 77y old and the youngest daughter of 4. I spent many hours in the shop with my dad who taught high school boys how to build engines for racing in Mt Clemens, MI. It was just an oval track but always a fun time on Saturday nights. My dad also worked on very old cars to get them in running condition. The cars were owned by our local undertaker. I was always at my father’s left hand to provide assistance. I learned so much about engines doing this. My father was a test car driver for Chrysler in the 40s & 50s. This job involved driving the vehicles all of the USA and Mexico. He owned a shop of his own in later years and also did some test driving of Ford trucks. Your KZitem channel has been a source of enjoyment for me and my sons for a number of years. Carry a little more altitude over that last set of pylons so your approach angle is steeper. Get that energy more vertical so the stopping distance is shorter. The gear can handle it. Awesome day 1!
