Who else built his own instrument, which has been his primary instrument throughout his career? There is no rival to the Old Lady (original Red Special). You can always tell it by the sixpence at the top of the neck. It's been there ever since it was refurbished in the late 90's.

OMG - this is so precious. Just to hear the stories behind the specific songs on Night at the Opera is a treasure. To have the 24-track tape from the 70s even more so. In the 70s few bands put in the hours Queen did to get their music recorded. NONE of their songs were ever simple little ditties. All of it was complex because Queen NEVER did anything by half measure.

GOOD COMPANY zaujímavá skladba skupiny QUEEN , ktorej autorom bol Brian May a bola akousi parodiou na starú dixielandovú hudbu 20 rokov, ktorú mal rad jeho otec. Pieseň veľmi osviežila album A Night At The Opera a dokázala, že členovia skupiny sú schopní tvoriť piesne z rôznych hudobných žánrov a preto mal album taký obrovský úspech. V roku 1963 Brian s otcom vyrezal z dreva z krbu zo 19. storočia gitaru, ktorú obohatil množstvom snímačov a namiesto brnkátka používal mincu, čim vytvoril charakteristický gitarový zvuk skupiny Queen.

2:44 is something else. This is probably a very controversial opinion but I actually think Brian would have been better off making the guitar parts the focus of an instrumental rather than putting it into what is - in my honest opinion - one of the albums more middling songs. I think solo'd like this, you can hear the true genius of what was done here but within the song Good Company, you take it for granted much more and don't really appreciate the guitar work like you should.
