People, get it through your head. The Netflix show is a FANTASY. People are getting worked up over a fictitious show. A show that states it's fictitious at the beginning of the series. Anyway, if Queen Charlotte's brother Charles looked like that, he was unusually hot for his time.

This is why I don't get the complaints about it. It's not even trying to pretend to be a documentary, literally historical fiction. Now, the Cleopatra complaints have merit because it's trying to claim reality

A "fantasy" based upon an actual historical figure. Nice try. Blackwashing at its finest.

Karoline, Elizabeth, Sophie - all died before their 1st birthday. Gotthelf died 2 days after his first birthday. That's why there are no portraits of them. Charlotte married on 8 Sept 1761, but were engaged in July 1761. Apparently, Christiane had met John Ker shortly before this in 1761. It might have been nice for George and Charlotte to wait for their engagement announcement, Christiane and John have a quick engagement and marriage then George and Charlotte marry afterwards, avoiding the protocol issues. I mean, after all, how can you be expected to find a King or better?

It so amazing where during a time that most of us would think marriage was demanded of offsprings that so many did not. I hate that all of them wore those darn white wigs and hiding their true hair and I would think that would be bad for the health of the scalp. It seem that Charlotte came with sibling that were very handsome and some looks of exotic flair.

Yeah, even if she did have an African ancestor, it’s estimated to be so far back in her lineage that it would hardly make any difference in her appearance.

The Ottoman Empire enacted that rule so that the king could have absolute power without fear of his brother usurping the throne. Very interesting history those Ottomans have. One king had to dispose of 19 brothers. His reign began with 19 caskets leaving Topkapi palace in succession. ⚰️😢
