These are beautiful unusual plants that we have had on the back porch for at least 30 years now...and this one of yours is spectacular...they do get leggy and crazy but they are well worth the extra effort to keep them up...when they bloom the smell and sight of them just awesome as you well know. I am glad that you have so many videos that actually show how to care for them. Just saying how to care for a plant is never as good as showing how to do it. I think yours are the best videos I have seen on how to do that.

Bald eagles, as well as all sorts of other wild critters, are on the rise in our neck of the woods. The 2nd generation forests, as well as the burbs for that matter, are maturing to a point where they can support apex species. Really cool.

How many individual pieces are in your pot? My sister gave me a huge pot of them and I need to repot them but I'm unsure of how many pieces I should use in each pot.

I would space them 3 inches apart in every direction with the same distance from the edge. Soooo how ever many that is. 😂🤔😅

It is literally taking over the room!!! Its beautiful right now. Lots of new green growth. The problem was it was so top heavy i needed the larger base. It took a little time but has adjusted well. Also, i added coffee grounds once per week to the topsoil.

I got mine as two leaves on a stem a four years ago and from that one stem it has 12-15 feet leaves and I’m so confused on what to do with it lol. I hate to trim the leaves because they are amazing with offshoots and that poor stem is being pulled to the max. Been wondering if I should have trimmed it or not. It hasn’t ever bloomed and I’m wondering if this is why. But it’s super healthy and green and has never had a dead leaf so I leave it alone. Should I be trimming tho?
@jarheadbonsai

I only trim mine to save space...I say if its green and healthy dont mess with it 😅😎🤣maybe yours was a cutting and they dont bloom? None of my cuttings have bloomed...and mama plant has only done it twice in 5 years so i may not be the best to answer otherwise 😅🌳✂️cheers

How’s your delonix doing? And also those 50 you put in soil, did they survive? I have some delonix regia that’s popped up for a cupel of days ago. But I have 2 18 Months delonix elata that’s have what I think is a flower. If you’re interested I can send a picture. Today the “flower ball” that’s looks like a green ball with many little tiny balls around has starting to grow spaghetti from it. Very statisfying! Take care and thanks for the videos

Sweet!!! I have never let mine grow long enough to flower i dont think. The green aphids love it unfortunately...but it is doing great. I will probably prune it again in July (by then it will hit cieling)Lol...send me a pic to my instagram. Thanks Mikael!!! 😎😎😎

Jarhead Bonsai oh so that’s the reason... both elata plants have this balls. I prune one of them just above the highest ball cuz it so young and I thought it maby will drop it or doesn’t have energy to build a flower. We will see. Still on Experimenting

I'm surprised you moved the cereus from such a small pot to such a big pot; it's my understanding that these like to be scrunched into a smaller pot, and that they will not bloom if you move them up in pot size too quickly.
@jarheadbonsai
2 жыл бұрын
Well my friend it has thrived. All of them have bloomed, and embraced a hard but necessery pruning to encourage branching. With such a large canopy the smaller pots tip, and dry out quickly. Good soil and a moderate pot = more blooms and vigorous growth
