It was the best concert I have ever been to, and I have been to many. I remember he was singing one of his songs and his earpiece I guess went out. He took the earpiece and slung it over his shoulder and he continued to sing. He finished the song sounding great. George Michael was my favorite performer and I followed him from the beginning of his career in Wham! until he passed Christmas Day 2016. I miss having new music by him. ( no disrespect to Freddie ) George was & still is very constant in sing songs. He doesn't change them up every time. No grandstanding, no real ego. George did everything with a pure heart. When singing other artists' songs he never sang above them (grandstanding) he sang with them. I believe he felt honored, not better than anyone else! THAT'S VERY VERY RARE, in my opinion! Meh. Record companies aren't about "ruining" careers. They're about making MONEY. They whore their own mothers out if they could make .20 on her. So whatever happened with George's career was more about George, his agents, his PR people, his attorneys, managers, etc, etc. And, of course, his own personality, foibles, issues, mental health problems, drug use / abuse problems, etc. We certainly don't know the full story. And it's not like the guy died broke and forgotten. ANY time he wanted to make $1,000,000 all he had to do was book a couple concert dates and he was flush with cash again. So... don't cry for him, Argentina.

He did sing in the tenor range but it wasn't part of his natural range and years of pushing his voice caused problems, he was even advised to not sing at Live Aid due to throat problems, but obviolsly he was fantastic. Caballe asked him why he didn't sing more in his natural baritone and Freddie said he couldn't because that's nit what the fans expected. I had tickets to see GM my senior year of college for the American leg of Faith tour. I stayed back to write an English paper. Huge regret. I did have a chocolate lab named George Michael. He was beautiful and sensitive.

I wish I had gone to see George live again before he passed, he was incredible live. Once in a lifetime singer who just soared when he sang and such a giving person as well. Tom Chaplin is the only recent male singer I have heard come close. I wish he had had a happier life, Rip.

P.S.- we need some Natalie Merchant 10KM love. Not enough people know her vocal genius.

George knew it was going to be a career defining performance and he adored Freddie and Queen. He approached this rehearsal with complete professionalism as Queen did. George was there rehearsing for days. And credit to the other backing vocalists at the tribute especially Chris Thompson. He’s long been one of my favorite rock vocalists.

I am certainly not a George fan but when I saw this performance at the FMT in wembildon my jaw dropped, this was one of the best performances I have ever seen.

George is an exceptional vocalist and songwriter. Consider him.

I am thinking about how much time Brian, Roger and John must have put in with all the rehearsals for all of the people who performed at that concert. That is dedication and the final product proved it.

After ‘Older’, I found myself really missing George Michael and personally wanted to see a greater level of output from him. Although there were a few projects released here and there, it was never the same. Seeing stuff like this only reinforces how massive a talent he was, and how much more I wanted to see and hear from him.

Thank you for this video. I've said it before and I still stand by it, George would have been the perfect choice for the Queen tour that eventually occurred with Paul Rogers.

Excuse me good sir. In which planet was G.M. an underrated vocalist? :D

@@Pai3000 he was, in fact in the a different story documentary from 2004 they address how his vocals are often overlooked. Many of George’s own songs don’t show the true brilliance of his voice, it’s only with his cover of Somebody To Love that you realise how good of a vocalist he was.

In an interview back in the ninties Brian was talking about the Queen tour "dream team" of stagehands and how rehearsals weren't just for them but for the crew to memorize where to place everything on the stage right down to where cords are taped to the stage so by the time they went on tour it was muscle memory when to lift their feet so they didn't have to look where they were walking just concentrate on the performance. The stagehand at the bottom of the chain was just as important as the band because if they goofed up it dominoed all the way up to their performance.
