When this album came out I was a raging alcoholic with a kid divorced and I was listening to this at work after been done after 2 hours of work trying to fill up 6 more hours. Realizing I was not doing good so I grabbed my shit together quit my job quit drinking be there for my kid and got a new job met the woman of my life. Now here we are... still sober and we just broke up having no house. Time to do it again. Love this song btw ❤

[Verse 1] The kid who wants some of the pretties in life Tried shortcuts those are myths Despite The first hands, the backhands, the bruises, the bites The painful spoonful the hustle invites Speak my name and I'll appear Right here [Chorus 1] Hideaway Hideaway [Verse 2] I'm all dressed up, no one left to blow Addiction to friction leaves you raw Left with the taste of flesh and bone It's a beautiful day in the USA I requires a pupil and I'm sure It's yours [Chorus 2] Hideaway Hideaway You'll stay fast and lonely Never ever need to run and hide from me New prey, soft and easy, tangled forever in my arms You'll feel love [Verse 3] Innocence is what you lose Like keys and dreams and old tattoos With one quick twist love turns to scar Cruising the bruises in my car Catch the keys, take the wheel and drive, for a while [Chorus 3] Hideaway Hideaway You'll stay fast and lonely Never ever need to run and hide from me New prey, soft and easy, tangled forever in my arms You owe me everything You owe me everything [Outro] You'll feel love You'll feel love Hold my hand You'll feel love You'll feel love You'll feel love Who needs love?

Love it. It could easily be on Rated R or Lullabies to Paralyze. Such a beautyful melody and smooth Josh's voice. The sound is just like "hearing" the colors of small warm light in the night. Tom Waits said he wanted to make movies for ears and this song brings a lot of pictures in my head.
@yukimaruzam

Josh once said Queens of the Stone Age is like "Sex Slathered in Strange". The whole of Rated R had that feel to me, and so did some songs on Lullabies to Paralyze (such as Little Sister and Someones in the Wolf). This song certainly feels like sex slathered in strange.

Maybe this album is not what you expected, which also doesn't make sense since QOTSA have evolved album to album, but these songs are AWESOME just like the songs that made you like QOTSA in the first place.
