The whole album needs to be listened to all the way through, as it is a story, like an opera.... The story is about a junkie hired as a Hitman, for an anarchist movement, who ends up being the fall guy for their crimes. One of the greatest heavy metal albums of ALL TIME.

This whole album is phenomenal!, This album is a concept album which tells the story of a young man named Nikki. The song you just heard is the last song on the album, so that is why some of the lyrics might have seemed out of place. You should really listen to the whole album from start to finish, Do a song a week, YOU will not be disappointed. The singer, Geoff Tate is one of my 5 top metal singers from that era. The story came out about 30 years ago but you would swear it had something to do with today's atmosphere around the world.

Mindcrime is a seminal recording. Born in '65 put me at what, 22 or 23 when it was released. I'm sure I listened to more LP's (because it was vinyl then) and the 'ryche was always at the top of the list. No one could tell me another had more talent.

Howdy from the great nation/state of Texas. Y’all must hear this entire album, Operation Mindcrime. It is a masterpiece along the same vein as Rush’s 2112 or Genesis’ The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. It is beautiful, haunting. I have always wished this could be made into a movie…..

Like others have already said, it's a concept album. You have to listen to the whole album to get the entire story. There are some songs that have a female singer in them her name is Pamela Moore and they sound fantastic together. Suite sister Mary is absolutely great live. I seen them perform this whole album live and it ranks in my top 5 concerts of all time.

I loved watching you guys listen to this. Gave me a huge smile. Great job breaking the lyrics down. Please take the time to listen to this from beginning to end. This is a story, an actual story. She is so correct about the lyrics. Great job. I cannot stress enough how great this. Watch the Operation:Live Crime concert. There are videos that help understand the story. I would also recommend Rage for Order, which is the album before. Been around since 1981 from my hometown of Seattle, WA. Take hold of the flame also. Geoff Tate’s greatest vocal scream. Just listen and you’ll understand. My fav band of all time. The end says, “I remember now.” He remembered everything that happened during the story. Great job guys. 🤘🏼 Lots of fun. 🙂🙏🏼❤️🤘🏼

Oh, man, this is a great song, but as other commenters have said, it's the last song from a concept album that is absolutely outstanding and also tells a fairly complex story, so you've missed the story. That said, you managed to really grab a some very meaningful and accurate analysis out of this song. I highly recommend, like some others have, that you sit down and listen to Operation: Mindcrime in its entirety, from start to finish. Either as an album review/reaction, or as another recommended, maybe a song per week, or even just not on youtube at all but just for your own enjoyment. Great job though!
