5150eddie they still are. Look for music outside what is covered by the media. Look up your favourite music style on Bandcamp and start digging to find hidden jewels releases by artist that are in most cases fiercely independent. Great music still exists, but it's harder to find amid all the noise out there. It's difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff! I regularly find new and recent music from bands I'd never encountered previously, by browsing genres and tags on Bandcamp, Soundcloud, and KZitem. Hip hop, jazz, metal, "art music" (what many call classical), rock, funk, soul, R&B...doesn't matter the genre, it is out there and bands play it live. Obviously, some scenes will be more popular in some areas, but that has always been the case. And I say this as someone who enjoys Queensryche and has seen them live (opening for Iron Maiden, no less!) I love my big, arena-selling bands like AC/DC and Megadeth, but I've been to about 150 smaller venues for local and less-known bands too.

Agreed totally. They played so smoothly and very at ease without screwing up any parts. This really shows the skills and level of musicianship of the bands from the 80s. But for the bands now, they are so concern of whether do they look good or not on stage. Lack of talent, and still don't practice their chop. Totally different league.

Very polished is the word I keep coming back to….when I saw them in Reno, NV (‘96 or ‘97) they were Off the Charts Polished!!! Geoff’s natural out of this world vocals were spot on! (I Love how he would walk back & forth on the stage (to help w/with diaphragm control?)(IDK, I just loved it!) It was almost PURPOSEFUL!! I actually bumped into Geoff Tate, here in Portland Oregon, not sure what year? (Mid-2000’s?) And they were playing that night, I hadn’t known and it was SOLD OUT.! BUT the consummate professional he is , he posed for a pic with me, and THAT was sooo cool! Anyhow, I digress; there are STILL a bunch of us Broken Hearted fans the World Over but at least we have our Memories (for NOW anyhow!), and still have the MUSIC and each other! (Sorry so long)

One of several songs from this group I heard as a kid on the radio but no one ever said "that's a great Queensryche song!". A lot of good music, and Jeff Tate's lyrics tend to approach some willingness to face evil and tell a story of it's irredeemable hellishness.
