Geoff Tate can wail better than the best Opera singers like Pavarotti, incredible voice and range. He's been a force of reckoning since the Queensryche debut EP, which was how many years ago?? 👍💯💫

Everything about this song is so right, yet I must admit I haven't voluntarily listened to it in over 15 years until today at work when it mysteriously started playing in my head from out of nowhere!! You know it's good shit when a song can do that after so many years. Definitely timeless piece.

The original Ryche still crushes everything. The only other band that can compete with the OG Ryche in songwriting is a post-punk experimental rock band called This Heat. The bands wrote the most mind-expanding thought-provoking musical lyrics.

It sucks ass that the first progressive metal band that wrote the most thought provoking, mind-expanding music has parted ways. Geoff Tates' vocals crushed everyone and still do. And Chris DeGarmos' guitar work and songwriting stand alone. Metal has a vitality of its own and has taken music to the extreme ; it cannot get any harder, faster, technical, emotional nor progressive. That is why it is the sickest form of music humans can create.. i.e. Korn( first album: finest work using bagpipes) the first progressive metal band Queensryche, (key boards, piano work, female vocals, and operatic overture). Metalcore band As I Lay Dying (piano work) and God Forbid (electronic violin and piano work) Pantera DIMEBAG! I am sure there are more metal bands I am not aware of that use others musical instruments not mentioned.

RycheRageForOrder For "rock opera" no band can touch Iron Maiden. For pure rock/metal beats and riffs mixed with progressive messages and musical variety, Judas Priest. You can hear both bands influence all over Queemsryche's work.

Of course. But the Ryche took it to the next level: Progressive metal and became giants themselves like Pantera...(DIMEBAG!!!)

I absolutely adore them all. I have been to meet & greets, private concerts, backstage. Met them all. I was torn when Chris left & then Geoff Tate's. I took it harder than any of my break Up's. Seriously tho, they will always be one of the best bands, talented & down to earth. If you've ever got the chance to meet them, they are so super cool. Awesome talent. I'll always be a number one fan.

Song playing...loud...down the highway and....I crawl out of the passenger window. Now I'm on the roof of the car. We're going about 110 k. I lay for a moment and take it in then I shift over and crawl down the side of the car, hanging on to the car door, reaching down so I can try to touch the asphalt or just get as close as I can (girlfriend is screaming in terror the whole time). Other drivers are losing their shit watching me (wayyyyy before youtube). That is my memory of this song and if I were young I would do it again. It was an awesome feeling....free.
