@@ScienceFoundation I know about the nagant, but that is not really a feasible revolver though. It requires proprietary ammo and the design is old. @@ScienceFoundation they could, but like any other decent revolver, the cost would be high. Higher than most people would be willing to pay. Part of the reason revolvers aren’t popular anymore is due to cost of manufacturing them. @@antonkirilenko3116 yep, genius operating mechanism but not practical what so ever. Cylinder cams forward to insert the tip of the cartridge case into the forcing cone of the barrel providing a air tight seal so no chamber blast. But it was designed around a cartridge that has the same muzzle energy as a .22 LR and the trigger pull was terrible because of the extra operating work it was having to do. The revolver Cheech had was a S&W Model 19, which is not designed like that, and being a .357 Mag it has WAY more energy than the Nagant revolver, more muzzle blast, and would not be able to be suppressed effectively, especially not as quiet as in the film. One of the few firearms that is Hollywood mouse fart quiet is a bolt action .22 LR with subsonics and a good suppressor, preferably ran wet with a solvent behind the first and second baffle.

@@jasonkrug6277 Supposedly there was a revolver with a built in suppressor back in the 1960’s But let’s face it, movies never get suppressors right. They sound like mouse farts, when anyone who’s ever shot the knows it would still be loud if the gun was right in front of you.
